Planned Updates

So after people having the opertunity to play it, I will be doing some updates to it in the near future. Such updates will be:

  • Fix lag issues. Seeing how people are having bad lag issues and very low FPS, I will build this on my better computer and not my crap laptop. This should hopefully fix these problems.

  • Split up the level. As there is no save function, the next update will contain 4 maps. Which would be:

DN_Test_Level, this will be a tiny level that you can use to gage your settings on and how well the game will run.

Darkest Night (Chapter 1), the full map. No or little changes will be made to it.

Darkest Night (Part 1), this will be the first half of DN. This would play up to the caves area. Upon completing this part, it will load the next part.

Darkest Night (Part 2), this will be the last half of DN. This will play the cave section of the story.

The reason why I decided to break it up, is so that if people were to “Die” they can load up the last half or first half, so they don’t have to replay the whole game again. And with the game only loading half the level, this should ALSO fix some the of the lag issues, as the game has much less to load.

Hopefully this should alow more and more people to be able to play Darkest Night with little to no issues. :)

I may also start working on the next chapter, but again, I am planning on scrapping the project on Terror Engine and rebuild it and greatly improve it on Unity.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
