Possible Cancellation of Nictophobia and Why I Feel Disappointed as a 3D Modeler

As you may know, I mentioned before that I wanted to make a short experimental game that would look scary, like Honey Bee's, GSaF, FNaDoggy's or FNAF 1 REMAKE, one with dark graphics and a black-and-white aesthetic.

It would be my second attempt at making a game that looks scary, since I failed in that attempt with “Seven Hours at Emma's”

One important thing is that the characters be scary, Well, I've already modeled two characters, and these designs are pretty silly

My modeling style doesn’t match the vision I have.

This disappoints me; I can’t make a game that tries to be really creepy with these designs.

What I mean is that I want the animatronic designs to look truly unsettling or Scary. I’m not going to go for that mix of cute and scary like I did with Emma’s; I mean, I’ve already done that, and it’s better to do it differently the second time. Like I said before, I want to do different things in each experimental game, so I’ll just make it scary, and that’s it. Although I don’t want it to be too over the top either, but…

I'm not going to make “Nictophobia” with models like that

if I can't come up with better models, I'll cancel the game.

Edit: (I had this post saved as a draft, btw): I guess that mix of cute and scary might work better here. I made this as a test

but imagine this: “a black-and-white game with an unsettling atmosphere and a somewhat dark story”............with these models? I don't think anyone could take something like that seriously.

And here’s the other thing I wanted to talk about: I feel like the only thing I haven’t really improved on is modeling. My models still look the same with the same noticeable flaws. Even with the models I made for Nictophobia, I felt like “this looks worse than before.” I don’t see any improvement here, and that disappoints me. Only with Emma’s models, which were my latest animatronic models, did it look a little better, but the improvement is minimal... and that’s even though I modeled Emma’s head by watching Nathan Zica’s tutorial on how to make a Scott-style model

I’m a mediocre modeler.

I could ask for help with the designs, but the truth is I’m a little ''embarrassed'' and I don’t like to bother people either

Some of my friends have even perfected their modeling style in a short amount of time, but I haven't even managed to do that

I could even ask some of my friends for help, but they're busy with their own projects and, as I've already said, I don't like to bother others

Honestly, I think from now on, until I improve my modeling style and if I end up creating another game with my original characters, it would be best if someone helped me… if I can get any help

So far, TDNaAAT 3 is the only game where I’m getting help with the redesigns. The characters in TDNaAAT need an update, and I know most of you must be bored of seeing the same models in four games in a row. Although the third game will be a prequel, and redesigning them wouldn’t make sense, it would be inconsistent, I think it’s better to make this change; I want to improve the visuals and not get stuck with the same ones. I want TDNaAAT 3 to at least meet the standard that fan games have now, or at least come as close to it as possible.
