So, Abra: the 8 Year Old Witch is out now. So far, it’s doing far better than my last game, Bully Run!, but still below my expectations. I’m not talking about the game itself, I’m very glad with how it turned out, but I guess I overhyped the release. I should also mentioned that this is really my 5th game. The first game I made was a Pong clone made in scratch, but with a gimmick of rotating the paddles and move in 4 directions. It sucked. The 2nd game I made was Bully Run! The game was made for a bunch of 4th graders at a school next to my high school, and I had to make a game to teach them about anti-bullying stuff. I published the game on GameJolt, but only the Mac version is available to download. There does exist a Windows version that is finished, but I feel like moving on from it. If any of you think I should release the Windows version, let me know. Over 1 and a half year, the game got 45 views and 4 downloads. After that, I made 2 other games. One that was a walking sim(as the kids call them) that was based on ET, and lasted about 2 min. And another one that was an over the top action game that was based on the Wizard of Oz, which won an award by my school. I did not release these games because I was not to proud of them myself, and even then, only the Mac versions exist, because my hard drive was destroyed later on, taking the games files with it. Now, we come to Abra. This was a game I started making late in my summer vacation, and later, I showed it off in my schools horror fest(even though it’s more cute than scary), and I had the drive to finish the game and release it to the world. I even made Abra my mascot. The Mario to my Nintendo. Even though the game is not doing well, I’ll still hold this as my best work, and work to 1up it. Without saying much, I have more planed for the 8 year old witch in the future. For now though, I’m on November break, and I need rest. Thank you to those who played the game, have fun with it, and all comments and criticism are allowed and encouraged. Thank you, and have a good night everyone.
