Hey, y'all!
Been about a month ago since the last devlog and already some good progress was made, sadly I can't talk about everything I want to but I'll try and give what bits I can.
But in this devlog, I'll be mentioning the progress of the game, and do a QnA.
I stated in the last devlog that week one was done and that visuals needed to be updated. Well, a month later many of the visuals were changed and a lot of audio was added to the point where the game is starting to take shape. Of course, there's still a lot that needs to be added and changed before release, but I'm expecting to update the game fairly rapidly so if there's a room a don't like or there's a bug somewhere I'll get it right away.
So far this is what the current game has:
A draft of week 1
character skins for the Original
A custom night + 20 modes (trying to balance it)
and menus and stuff I can't talk about just yet
But a lot has changed and improved, very proud of what I got.
I wanted to do a quick QnA just to get more info out there and clear up any confusion. I've gathered some questions from the ultra-fast QnA post from earlier as well provided some extra questions I would assume other people might have.
And don't worry about joke questions there's only, like, two. The rest are legit.
"What time is OL (Week 1) planned for release?"
-I don't want to give any promises due to fear of disappointing people, but if I keep going with the pace I'm at I could probably the first launch out before the end of the year. But don't expect it to come out anytime soon don't know if something might change in the future."Mod's design???"
-This has been a big (lol) topic for a long while and understandably so. Though I first want to give credit where it's due and say that I actually wasn't the person who made her design, it was actually the very talented artist, @ewademar who made it. However, I was the person who modeled it, so I still take responsibility for the design.
My idea for the Mod's design that I gave to Ewademar was this, to contrast with Maim's chaotic/animalistic design along with all the others I wanted something cute and fun, think of the withered animatronics compared to the toys: The Black Bunny being the withered, and Mod the toys. So she wasn't made with the intention of it being furry bait. But ey, free fan art!"What programs do you use?"
-I use mainly the free stuff to do my work, but I do pay for my software. So Blender for 3D modeling, Substance Painter for 3D texturing, Photopea for image editing, DaVinci Resolve for video editing, and FL Studio 12 for music and sound design (should mention, I was not the person who made the main theme for the trailers, that would be @m8i, I currently use it for sound design but I'm learning)"will the other Tannerland games be re-uploaded? And are they canon"
-Sad to say that they will not be re-uploaded as I do not have their files anymore. And even if I did I would not be happy with uploading all of them as only the first and fourth ones were my only favorites. While the second and third were just blunt copies of the second and third fnaf games with no good twist or anything to make them unique.
And as for them being canon, I can confirm that the fourth game isn't canon. However, the first will be involved somehow."Will there be custom night and extras?"
-I basically confirmed there being a custom night. But to expand upon it, I do feel that the custom night in this game will be interesting compared to custom nights in other fnaf games as there are more reasons to actually create a custom night instead of having only a slider that going from 0-20. Because frankly, nobody goes between 0-20.
And as for extras, there's something similar to it. But I can't talk more about it as of now."Will there be more collab skins in the future?"
-Yes, as well as original skins on the side. Currently, there are about three waves of collab skins, and one for original skins. Meaning that each character would get about three collab skins and one original, now who would those collabs be is your guess. But the first wave was already revealed in the Fangames at Freddy's event. But of course, it will also depend on clickteam's memory limit, otherwise, I would add a million skins."Who's your favorite character?"
-I tried to add some variety in the characters you will go against, both in their design and in their gameplay. For example:
-Original: Simple, neutral design and poses, and a remake of an old character.
-Black Bunny: Withered, broken design, cool color scheme, and textures, rabbit.
-Maimed: chaotic, fast-paced, animalistic design, big, and intimidating.
-Mod: Cute, shiny and bright, small, rabbit, furry.
And of course, there are more characters in the future.
Personally, my favorite is the Original as he has been the one I've been attached to the most, and is a remake of what was my first fan game."Will the game have more languages?"
-I would like it to, perhaps not at the very launch of the game but in the future, I would like to include it."Will it only be the Original in week one?"
-At launch, yes. But for future weeks I would like for there to be more than one character in the night at the same time, creates more variety in the night which is ultimately what I want."If there's only one animatronic in week one, how will that be a challenge?"
-Good question ;)
