Project OHNO! (Beta 1.0.0 - "Together Forever") Changelog

-=Changelog=-

  • Added the Demented Trader and it's bossfight.

  • The Demented Trader will now be fought every 5 Rounds at the end of it. It has two phases and throws the new Spinbombs at you throughout. If you try parrying them at them, they will parry it back at you! It moves very fast and deals a lot of damage, so best be prepared.

  • Added Spinbombs.

  • Spinbombs are a new projectile that do not home in on you and spin whilst they fly forward. They explode on impact and are quite fast though, so pay attention. They can be parried.

  • Added the Boxbite.

  • The Boxbite will move slowly around but will get angry for a while if hurt or knocked back in any way, moving very fast and damaging a lot. It has a lot of health too, so keep your distance.

  • Added the Shellsnow.

  • The Shellsnow will duck into it's shell when a bullet nears them or hits them, or when they are knocked back, giving them full resistance to any attacks until they feel they are safe again. They'll only emerge from their shell if you are far away and do not disturb them so either deal with them fast or play smart.

  • Added the Snowslug.

  • The Snowslug moves in a pretty fast and confusing circular pattern. They have quite a bit of health and deal good damage too. Keep with their flow if you want to take them out.

  • Added the Shockshroom.

  • The Shockshroom will spread an electric charge to any Frosties it touches, or even to you. The electric charge can be spread by other charged Frosties and yourself too and will double their speed whilst they have it. Will also explode when killed.

  • Added the Blauerobin.

  • The Blauerobin dives and floats very quickly towards you, dealing quite large damage. They move very slowly vertically however, and are also quite slow at turning, allowing you to avoid them.

  • Added the Squishfrost.

  • The Squishfrost is similar to the Iceshard, but it has slightly more health and fires two Missiles at once, which can be very deadly.

  • Added the Snowloon.

  • The Snowloon quickly floats up to the top of the screen, becoming two Blauerobins if it reaches the top. It will explode when shot.

  • Added the rare Keykeeper.

  • The Keykeeper is a secret enemy that has an extremely low chance to spawn on rare occasions and is guaranteed to drop either a Gilded Key, Cursed Key, or Potion Key.

  • Added three different variants for all Frosties that they can spawn as which gives them different abilities.

  • The light blue "glazed" variant has faster movement speed but deals less damage to you, but double damage to your shield.

  • The yellowish "lumber" variant has double the damage resistance but takes normal damage from explosions and has half the movement speed.

  • The purple "flaring" variant deals double the damage, deals frostburn damage and is completely immune to explosion damage, but has half the regular damage resistance.

  • Frosties can now be Gilded, Magic and Cursed.

  • Gilded Frosties have mildly more health and strength, and a lot more speed.

  • Magic Frosties have a lot more health and strength, and mildly more speed.

  • Cursed Frosties have a lot more health, strength and speed.

  • These effects spawn much more often after a boss has been defeated every 5 rounds.

  • Added 5 more inventory slots that appear once you go over the default 5 in the form of a backpack-ish display with unique sounds for pickups and opening.

  • Added Skeleton Storage.

  • Skeleton Storage will only appear if you are signed in with GameJolt and can be used to store items over multiple runs. However, multiple identical items cannot be stored inside at once and it also can only store a maximum of nine items.

  • Skeleton Storage won't save in Debug Mode.

  • Added the Potion Kit.

  • The Potion Kit can be used in combination with the brand new Canteen to mix potions together and improve their effects.

  • Added Potionate and Potion Keys.

  • Potionate is a new crafting ingredient found in Normal Chests used to craft Potion Kits, Potion Keys and Canteens.

  • Potion Keys can be used to get only potion related items.

  • Enemies can also now drop items from Potion Chests.

  • Added Potion Canteens.

  • Potion Canteens can be drunk from if filled with potions in combination with the Potion Kit. It is also reusable and can be destroyed for Polarcrop, and crafted with it alongside Potionate.

  • When drinking from the Canteen, you will drink 50ml of each different type of potion effect, and the Canteen can store up to 500ml of each, making the Canteen incredibly useful.

  • Added Cursed Saviours.

  • The Cursed Saviour will add all your items to Skeleton Storage upon death if it is unlocked and if this item is in your inventory.

  • The Skeleton Storage will create temporary slots to store these items if there isn't enough room inside it already.

  • Added Jars.

  • The Jar can be used to store and carry around any type of Frostie. Destroying them in the Trash will release the Frostie inside and destroy the Jar itself.

  • Added Shield Potions.

  • Shield Potions act like Health Potions but will give a temporary shield if at high enough health.

  • Added Cursed Chugs.

  • Cursed Chugs act like Gilded Apples only much stronger, with longer boost lengths and a greater shield effect, found only in Cursed Chests.

  • Added Explosive Canisters.

  • Explosive Canisters can be placed down and shot at to explode them, dealing very large damage in a large area to Frosties but also yourself if you aren't careful.

  • Added Cursed Ropes.

  • Cursed Ropes can be thrown to quickly pull yourself towards where you threw it, and has infinite uses. It can be crafted with Polarcrop and Cursite or found in a Cursed Chest, and can be destroyed to obtain those things too.

  • Added Magnet Packs and Magnets.

  • Magnet Packs can be used to throw out Magnets that can be used to attract bullets towards them, similar to the new mechanic with Magnetice. This allows very powerful contraptions, especially with piercing shots.

  • Added Dummies.

  • Dummies can be thrown out to distract Frosties from yourself and make them target a Dummy instead, which can be very helpful in many scenarios.

  • Added particle effects for various different things.

  • Added a new background whilst in game.

  • Changed how Power is obtained slightly.

  • Power Fragments will now be gained with a certain amount being given depending on the maximum health of the Frostie killed, that being half that value rounded up with a minimum of 1 and maximum of 4 at once.

  • 11 Power Fragments are now required for a Power point rather than 3.

  • The default playable character, and currently only one, has a benefit that gives you double the Power Fragments.

  • Added a new Power Fragment UI that shows how many more kills until another Power point.

  • Redesigned the Power UI.

  • Added a sound effect to getting a Power point.

  • After defeating a boss, the next Chest you get at Break will be upgraded to give 5 items instead of 3, including if you use keys on it.

  • Added the Looting gild.

  • Looting increases the chance and rarity of items gotten from enemies, and goes up to level 3 on the Gun.

  • Added the Leeching gild.

  • Leeching gives you bonus health from the amount of damage your gun deals to other Frosties, and goes up to level 5 on the Gun.

  • Temporarily removed Tracks due to storage issues.

  • Removed the ability for Track Keys to be used as a key.

  • The battle music now alternates between Frostbattle and Heatwave every round.

  • There is now a usually very faded border around the edge of the screen blocking only you from getting out of bounds.

  • The border increases in visibility when you are very near the edge of the screen.

  • If you manage to glitch outside the border, you will be teleported to the centre of the screen. None of this effects Frosties or other things like bullets or items.

  • Explosions now deal Frostburn damage which prevents natural regeneration for a short period of time.

  • Frosties now take damage and knockback to explosions, and explosions are larger. This allows some explosions to be chained.

  • If you time a parry on a Missile well, you can now send it back at other Frosties, causing it to explode and damage them. They won't explode when only touching other projectiles.

  • Parrying now also deals knockback to other Frosties that the Frosties you parried hit whilst being knocked back, also giving them a slightly more mild weakness effect.

  • Performing a parry whilst in a dash will also knockback all nearby Frosties greatly in a shockwave attack and give them weakness too, ending your dash early and knocking you back slightly.

  • Firing a piercing shot during a dash will knock you out of the dash and push you far.

  • Parrying will now slightly push you towards where you parried.

  • Shooting a piercing shot now knocks you back slightly.

  • Projectiles now do not add to the total enemy count.

  • Magnetice and Magnets attract bullets towards them when they are near.

  • The Storage and Skeleton Storage now display the name of the item currently selected in them.

  • Your current round and world will be displayed at the top of the screen before every round.

  • Rounds will progressively get harder but have increased chances of better loot, with difficulty increasing faster on higher difficulties.

  • Many Frosties can now only spawn after a certain amount of waves, improving the difficulty curve much more. Harder Frosties will spawn sooner on harder difficulties.

  • Added different Gamemodes.

  • The "Standard" gamemode is the default game.

  • The "Legacy" gamemode does not feature variants or upgrades to Frosties and also does not prevent some Frosties from spawning until a certain amount of waves have passed.

  • The "Challenges" gamemode is actually a bunch of different challenges that change the game in interesting and difficult ways, with very fun gameplay.

  • Challenges will eventually get unique item rewards for reaching a certain wave, though currently these aren't implemented yet.

  • The "Boss Rush" gamemode is currently locked.

  • Renamed and redesigned difficulties.

  • You can now press "M" to return back to the menu whilst in-game.

  • You can now load your last game from the menu if you quit mid-way through.

  • The game will save at the start of every break and when you return to the menu during a break.

  • Dying or starting a new game will clear your previous save, and using Debug Mode will prevent saving and overwriting the save.

  • Note that any dropped items or Frosties present will not be saved yet but this will hopefully be figured out soon.
