Update 0.2.0
First big update is out. It’s mostly focused on difficulty and controls.
I will try to list out all the changes compared to the 0.1.0 prototype. Thanks for playing!
New fruit plant has been added.
Controls
Mouse sensitivity has been greatly increased, and the fish responsiblity awell.
Conclusion:
-Turning around speed: 300% for everybody -> 800% for players and 100% for NPCs.
Gameplay options
Options->Gameplay settings has been added, you will be now able to change the Tick rate from 10 to 30 per second. So if you have been noticing low fps, please try to reduce the tick rate as it might help you. You will be also able to reduce total fish amount down to 33%, this should help the “low FPS”-ers aswell.
Fog distance and color
Options->Graphics fog distance slider has been added, for you folks. The color of fog has been also made a bit darker.
Resolution and quality
Fullscreen mode has been temorary removed, the game window is now resizable. Default quality setting is now “Good”.
Bite & Eat
Mostly due to many players and testers complaining about difficulty to catch something, we have reworked biting and eating a bit. See changes below.
Conclusion:
When biting you have to release the strike when your target is in your hit zone-> When biting you can release the strike earlier, but it will strike a bit later (0.75s). Unless over this time something ‘strikable’ gets into your hit zone . In this case the strike will strike immediately.You could only have been bitten into something for max 2seconds-> If the thing is food or a dead fish you can now swim away with it without breaking the grab.You can spam abilities like wtf-> It is no longer possible spam abilities, nor it is possible to cast multiple of them at once, additionaly both abilities (Bite,Eat) have now small cooldowns.You can do damage using the Eat-> It is no longer possible to deal damage using Eat ability.You can eat using the Bite-> It is no longer possible to eat using Bite ability.Eating did not suck-> Eating now works in small intervals, and it slighty sucks nearby food towards your mouth.Bite had no powerup, but you could do damage relative to how long you had your mout open up to full damage-> Bite now requires to charge up (0.3s) before alowing to strike for full damage.
Levels
Many new players had troubles noticing their fishes grow, so we are removing the [Eat->Grow a little up] system. And instead whenever you eat something you gain “Experience” which is added into your experience bar that visible on bottom-center of your screen. Once your experience bar is full you’ll gain a level up, significantly growing up and increasing damage done by your fish.
Conclusion:
Eat and grow a little up-> Eat and gain experience to Level Up and grow a lot.
Balance
Well, the 0.1.0 version was so broken…

Bug fixes
A lot of bugs, have been fixed and a few new might have been introduced.
Most important ones:
Big fishes couldn’t be destroyed once killed-> Now they can be destroyed.FPS drop after a while of playing-> Fixed few big memory leaks.Quality settings dialogue had no effect-> The dialogue has been removed completly, please use the ingame Options/Graphics/Quality settings from now on.
