Quest post - #Devruary

An achievement i'm most proud of related to game dev has to be on getting my games/software to work on just about everything

Just 2 days ago i actually managed to get a sample application of mine with full graphics and font support running on Windows 95 almost completely natively! (While experimenting, I found out that it also works in Windows NT 4)

I hadn't fully confirmed if i can get all of the assets i need to get a pretty decent-grade game going in Windows 9X, but for now it's looking very promising! (As seen in Image #2)

Allowing support for an OS this old feels completely pointless, but fun to me, and just neat to look at in general, as a retro enthusiast

Looks like Windows 9X compatibility is at an all time high for me here, I'm sure there's probably 1-5 people who are excited about this, but i found it fun to be able to play on such an old OS

Learnt the hard way that backups can be VERY important, especially if it's on something you care about;

I've had some projects just completely corrupt themselves due to technical issues...

Honestly doesn't look a half bad for my first attempt at drawing Flareon here, lmk what you think!

Decided to add a simple lighting system for top-down tiles

With textures, i can't even tell that it's blocky; this ended up being more of a visual upgrade than what i previously thought!
