Now onto Part 2. I didn't exactly run out of room on the first post but I didn't want to be cut off in the middle of my sentence, so here's a second rambling. Now that I'm free, I can properly review all the skins in the game : D. Now I can talk to you about random shit no one but me cares about!

Skins are a thing in mobile games, they are simply cosmetics and nothing more, they make the characters look neat or they make the characters look like ass. Fnaf AR is no different, you get a giant mixed bag of skins that I get to ramble on about. Frostbear and 8-bit Baby are not apart of this list because they are classified as characters.

The first skin is Shamrock Freddy, part of the Shamrock Shakedown event (and the only event to be named after him)

It's Freddy but green, need I say more? It's the first skin and for some reason it took Dawko two videos to beat and it's apparently super difficult to beat despite being Freddy. But yeah, it's Freddy but green. I like the gold mic though, that's nice.

Next I'm tackling all three of the Easter Skins, introducing Chocolate Bonnie, Easter Bonnie, and Melted Chocolate Bonnie!

Now the first two are actually really cool, making themed skins around Easter is actually really cool and using Bonnie, while obvious, just adds a charm to the skins. They even have a little bit of backstory which I will talk about in the story section. Now Melted Chocolate Bonnie is... I think I mentioned this but Melted Chocolate Bonnie has a reused animation of Jack-o Bonnie, which is funny because that's how little effort they thought of for this skin. First of all, it's a skin of a skin. Second of all, it's Chocolate Bonnie but melted, hell, it had the same problems with Chocolate Bonnie when Chocolate Bonnie launched. It's crazy how little thought went into this skin. It's not the worst thing ever, but man... I want some effort sometimes.

Next up we have, in my opinion, the best skins in the game. The Arcade Mayhem Skins: VR Toy Freddy, High Score Toy Chica, and System Error Toy Bonnie!

These skins fucking rock, I love the effects on them. Freddy having VR fits because of UCN establishing Toy Freddy as a game, Toy Chica's cupcake being 8-bit and her bib having "High Score" on it and System Error Toy Bonnie having little particle effects coming off of him is such a nice touch. Not to mention, the first two skins have variants when you are fighting them, which is actually super cool and not a lot of skins do that.

They look super cool and everyone I knew who didn't even like AR admitted that these were cool.

Next up the Wasteland Event with Radioactive Foxy and Toxic Springtrap.

Green Foxy and Purple Springtrap. I do like how Foxy has two hooks now and Toxic Springtrap is just... boils and vines. I used to really like Toxic Springtrap, nowadays I prefer Radioactive Foxy. There's nothing really too them though that makes them interesting, well, aside from Foxy being see through, that's pretty cool.

Next up was Fourth Of July with the July event that never had a name and caused a lot of controversy within the community for some reason. Firework Freddy and Liberty Chica.

It's Firework Freddy and Liberty Chica alright. Admittedly, I like Liberty Chica and think she's visually appealing. I like the color and the on fire cupcake, and the fact that her little slab there says July IV. Firework Freddy is Freddy but with an explosive and sunglasses. They are American alright. I don't enjoy them as much but I just find it really funny they caused so much controversy within the community. With even some going as far as to be racist iirc. It was fucking crazy, and over Firework fucking Freddy no less.

Sizzling Summer is the next event and I don't blame people for saying this is their favorite event, we got some great ass skins. Flamethrower Bare Endo, Broiler Baby, Scorched Chica, and Flaming Springtrap.

Do I even need to say anything? The obvious stinker here is Chica but other than that, these fucking RULE! Giving the Endo a flamethrower was awesome, Springtrap is literally on fire and he bursts into flames for his animation, and replacing Baby's ice cream stomach with a furnace is such a cool concept. These skins are awesome, minus Chica. Though, her cupcake is funny.

Next up is Dark Circus... and now I'm just realizing in Part 1 I forgot to talk about the Dark Circus AR thing. I guess I can talk about it here. You go around doing tasks to wake up animatronics and looking around the map for hints on how to do these tasks, they can range from easy to hard and then you fight the animatronics. Ballora, Ringmaster Foxy, and I believe the final boss, Great Escape Golden Freddy. For some reason, the other two skins aren't there, Magician Mangle and Clown Springtrap.

Now these skins range from good to alright. Mangle and G. Freddy are alright, Ringmaster Foxy and Springtrap are good. I actually do like Clown Springtrap, I like the makeup he has, I like how he has a hammer like Harley Quinn, and Ringmaster Foxy is goated as hell. Magician Mangle has a cool animation but I don't really care much for her. Funny Sans eye. Great Escape Golden Freddy is actually a cool concept, and now looking at it, I may not be giving him enough credit. He actually does look kinda cool.

After this event (which also introduced Ballora), there was the Woodland Event-oh what? Sorry, Catrina Toy Chica in a sea of three characters.

I find the cupcake funny for some reason and I really like the white look on her, and her cracked smile is cool. This was made to celebrate day of the dead and was once again caught in the middle of the two Jack-o's and Plushtrap. She's a fine skin but could have been brought in at any other point.

Now we have the Woodland event, an event with some pretty underrated skins for being so simple. Woodland Toy Freddy, Boulder Toy Bonnie, and Swamp Balloon Boy.

I bet you can already tell a bit of a problem here, there's too many skins rather than characters in this game. And they are now starting to decline a bit in quality. I like the first two to their credit, for as simple as they are, they are quite effective. BB got the short end of the stick though as he looks like shit. He's also telling you to rot which is kinda funny. Overall, underrated event with two good skins imo.

Next up, Winter Time. We got four skins over here, Black Ice Frostbear, Artic Ballora, Frostbite BB, and Frost Plushtrap.

I think BB should have had a different sign, like a snowy street sign or something. That would have been interesting. A slightly better skin for BB here, I like how he has a mace for a Balloon. Artic Ballora and Black Ice Frostbear are also cool. Ballora even gets a music change and Black Ice Frostbear gets a staff instead of an icicle. Frost Plushtrap gets an area change to be more snowy and... that's it. Frost Plushtrap is visually not appealing compared to the others.

Valentines Day we got two skins at once, funny how life works like that. Can't find love? Fnaf AR has two for you. Heartsick Baby and Blackheart Bonnie.

I actually actively don't like looking at Bonnie I think he sucks. The only good thing about Bonnie is that you can see a pixel heart on the back of him which is cool. Other than that, I hate this Bonnie I think it sucks major ass. Heartsick Baby on the other hand I quite like. Her pins have been replaced with arrows, which is super clever. She has a bow and arrow, also clever, and her cheeks are hearts, which I think is the icing on the cake. Heartsick Baby is quite cool, Blackheart Bonnie is not.

Now for everyone's viewing pleasure, the Ancient Equinox event, aka the worst skins in the game.

Now you could argue the case for Serpent Mangle and maybe your right with that one. But with Curse here, not even Springtrap, just Curse. This is ASS. He looks so fucking stupid, his feet are changed to be leopard print which looks awful imo. The head gear makes Springtrap look very tired and he's carrying baggage, and the shield... actually the shield is fine but the feathers make it look weird. I'm sorry, I fucking hate Curse so much. Serpent Mangle is fine I guess but MAN does Curse fucking suck donkey doo. They didn't even bother posing him at one point and just left him in a T-pose. That's how little even Illumix cares about this guy.

Scary Tales Event is next. I'm basically speedrunning the rest of these because sorry, most of these are kinda mid.

Little Red Chica is quite good actually. I like the cloak, the cupcake being in the basket is a nice touch, and instead of her webbed feet, she has shoes and socks, which is clever. She actually does feel like a scary Little Red Riding Hood, even down to her fur color being changed. Big Bad Foxy, while not that good and looks mid, does have one plus.

This attacking thing is fucking hilarious.

The second to last event, Wicked Tides. We're almost done guys, then I can make a part 3 where I go over literally everything else.

Dark Water Bare Endo, Sunken Toy Bonnie, and Piranha Plushtrap. The First and last skin are actually quite good in my eyes. They are pretty detailed, especially Plushtrap. Plushtrap has a better area now, being underwater and in a pirate ship with even his own throne iirc. Dark Water Bare Endo has coral arranged like organs, which is silly. And then there's Sunken Toy Bonnie, somehow worse than Curse. Just... JUST LOOK AT IT! It looks like I had too much Taco Bell and Toy Bonnie just happened to be in the sewers. And what happened to his eyes? His eyes look weird and I don't like them. I HATE SUNKEN TOY BONNIE!

And finally, the last event... and it's a good one. Screampunk.

Clockwork Ballora, Aeronaut Toy Freddy, and Jetpack Balloon Boy. They are all great honestly. All visually appealing, all good animations for the most part, and BB even flies in his animation. The sign looks good for BB, I like all the parts on Toy Freddy, and fun fact about Ballora, her chest size is actually twice as bigger as regular Ballora. Go nuts internet (I think they actually did when they found this out). Even the minireenas have little cogs for their tutu's. It was a great event to end off on before Fnaf AR decided to just stop updating after a while. Illumix went on to pursue new ventures I suppose.

Now, look at all these skins and then the characters, it's a lot right. I don't mind the skins for the most part. When they are good, they are really good. When they are bad, they are really bad. I'd like a balance between characters and skins and that would be nice, but I think everybody knows what I'm going to bring up next. The micro transactions. Fnaf AR was the first ever micro transaction Fnaf game. And it's a mobile game, I get it. Micro transactions should be expected, but they sometimes just werent worth it. I know a lot of people back then who were crying because they didn't have enough money for the skins and they were referring to skins like Big Bad Foxy, which was a bad skin. The skins never really justified the prices, even the good ones I felt didn't sometimes. They were expensive as hell and if you lost your account, good luck getting it back because that process was apparently dogshit.

Sound Design and Jumpscares:

Now for sound design, looking back I used to really like it. Nowadays, I think it's fine. The atmosphere can change depending on who you are fighting and, unless you are wearing headphones, you can't really tell where the animatronic is. I like the jumpscare scream, it may be a little cringe when other fangames use it but I do enjoy the jumpscare screams quite a bit.

As for the jumpscares themselves. Well...

They suck ass. I've seen them when they aren't in this format. The models are just put on their bellies and they just move the heads forward. It looks really goofy. I think the jumpscare screams are quite good, and there are actually different screams depending on which character you are fighting. I think that's pretty cool. The jumpscares themselves aren't really anything to lose your mind over however.

While this video doesn't have all the jumpscares, you can gather what the rest would look like just on this video alone. The jumpscares aren't that good.

Story:

As I mentioned and will continue to mention time and time again, I am a fan of the story of Fnaf. And I would argue that AR has the best story since Pizzeria Simulator. There is so much world building and setting up of events that it's honestly insane. This set up a lot for Security Breach, revealing someone that just so happened to be the main player of Help Wanted.

Now for this... I have to go into something I don't really like going into, unused content. Normally, I don't talk about unused content, but for here, the game just stopped updating lore at one point and according to SB when one of the main characters mentions a main character from AR of all places, I am still inclined to believe that it is canon. So unless further evidence disproves this, but when an official roblox game centers around AR, then I am still inclined to believe that AR in some compacity is canon.

Now, it is unknown who we play as directly, but we are a member of the Eternal Package of the Fazbear Funtime Service, now stuck with it forever and the animatronics attacking us, big whoop. Before I go over everything everyone knows, let's talk characters and what they mean for the lore.

Now, since this is a subscription service, you have animatronics to be rented out. The Classics, the Toys, Baby, Ballora and the Minireenas, Funtime Freddy and Bon Bon are all apart of Fazbear history, makes sense why they would be here. Plushtrap could be apart of that roster too I guess, maybe he was sold as a toy throughout the Fazbear Franchises lifespan I don't know. Characters like Springtrap are answered through emails. Emails in Fnaf AR give you tiny bits of lore and story throughout the universe of what is going on right now. With Springtrap, you get an email about a "Vintage" Bonnie model going to "Hardcore Users" of the service. And... that's all you get about Springtrap I think. He gets one email and then he shoves off. Characters like Frostbear email you himself, the Jack-o's and Golden Freddy I don't actually know why they are there. Jack-o Chica and Springtrap have UCN lines like they have been there. I have a theory on why Springtrap would say such lines, twisting words as the AI that thinks it's Afton would say. It still has that ego Afton has, and has mannerisms of Afton. My guess is that it still thinks it's Afton and made many clones of Springtrap to continue to legacy of himself. Even with Afton truly gone, he still lives on as a digital replica that is not himself. Jack-o Chica I don't know.

Lefty is interesting as he among many others were planned for the game. The core four nightmares were planned, Endo 02 was planned, the Glamrocks were planned, Funtime Foxy and Scrap Baby were planned. There were a lot of characters planned for the game that just don't show up, with the only one actually having a model and animation being Lefty. He even has promotional art.

He even showed up in the trailer. I don't think this is Charlie coming back or anything, if she were to come back it would be as The Puppet in some way. Lefty might be here because he technically is a part of the Fazbear cast in a way. Pizza Sim shows Lefty being apart of the Rockstar animatronics, so maybe they are just using Lefty for money purposes, classic Illumix-I mean Fazbear Entertainment.

Mangle is an interesting case because I mentioned this with Mangle but she doesn't climb on the walls and ceilings unlike back then. Emails state they never got the technology to do it, meaning that Mangle climbed on walls a different way, possibly a paranromal way. Like another set of dead kids in Fnaf 2 hmm???

Shadow Bonnie being here as a protector of remnant, he only shows up when you collect too much dark remnant in the remnant collection. I think I forgot about Shadow Bonnie so yeah, Shadow Bonnie is in the game.

Ain't he the coolest? He tries to rush at you and you have to use your light to scare him off. Once again, only showing up when you have a lot of dark remnant, meaning he is a keeper of remnant and making sure no one uses it badly... or something like that.

Alright, the meat and potatoes, the actual plots in the emails. There are two plots in the emails that are unknown but converge into one at one point. The emails eventually stopped updating so no one would know about it. Fazbear Entertainment had hired a company to help them out with their new Funtime Service, so you get plot points about the company and what is going on with them, at one point, they halt production because of a virus implemented in the code of the animatronics, making them act weird. They can't isolate the code and eventually, Fazbear halts all production on the matter. On the other side, we learn about two members of Fazbear Entertainment, Luis and Ness. Luis likes Ness as a crush meanwhile Ness is busy putting in rainbow hair extensions, in other words, she's a lesbian and Luis you need to see other people. Okay it's not that but I also enjoy the headcanon of Ness being gay and not straight.

Anyway, Luis often checks in on Vanessa and tries to get her to go out for coffee with him, talking about IT stuff as he monitors things like that. Sometimes things go through, and it feels like Ness is having a mental crisis. She buys Viking eagle calendars, searches up gory stuff and "How to make humans compliant" and similar things in that nature. She also searches up "help" by itself multiple times. And when I say Ness is fucking crazy, I mean she sent flowers and chocolates to herself from a boyfriend that does not even exist. Fucking crazy shit I tell ya. Back on the other end, the company working on the Funtime Service talks about circuit boards being scanned... you know where that is going. With Fazbear halting their work, they go to work on other contracts... except when the virus becomes very severe and they need all hands on deck.

With Ness and Luis, Ness begins to order things like "lifelike rubber masks" and Luis thinks she's making a movie. Ha. Funny... wait they actually got to talk to each other? Yeah, in one of the emails, Ness and Luis actually met up for an in person talk. Maybe she's bisexual? Or is clueless that Luis wants to go on a date. Ness talks a lot about IT stuff, something Luis is into. That's... weird. Suddenly, Ness goes silent and starts ignoring Luis and he thinks she's not really doing so good mentally (What gave it away?). Eventually, Luis vents to Ness about his crush and how he hopes she's okay, sending three emails back to back about it. Jesus Christ SHES NOT INTO YOU LET IT GO MAN!

Meanwhile, the company working on the Funtime Service finally got a response from Illumix-I MEAN Fazbear Entertainment from someone under the guise of "V_A" huh... interesting. They talk about the virus and just need access to their computers. Everyone thinks it's Tech Support and just let them access to their computers via teams or whatever people use. And apparently... everything is right in the world! Finally, Fazbear Entertainment did something right for once!!! Wait... what do you mean Ness potentially created an IT email account and used it to get in contact with one of the many contracts of Fazbear which just so happened to be the Funtime Service one? What do you mean the animatronics are going apeshit?

Turns out Ness is kinda a jerk and she was using Luis to do evil things, like make the animatronics violent and locking people out of their phones. We also learn of something called "_Pizzaplex" HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM... I wonder what that could mean.

People are getting locked out of computers, Bonnie's eating a cat (more on that later) and Fazbear Entertainment things are leaking, a company retreat, a list of rules for the break room, and a list of promotions and transfers. One of which belongs to a "Vanessa A." from Security to Security... I DO WONDER WHAT THAT MEANS!!! HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. OH AND SHES MAKING A COSTUME TOOO HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...

Oh, and now we are onto subplot three, involving a shipping company with the robots and the person sending the robots. Everything seems fine, just a case of missing parts... until the animatronics start acting off and Bonnie eats a cat. The person who is talking to the shipment company is then fired and that's the end of it.

Now, before I end off the story segment, I want to talk about the canonicity of skins, well, rather two of them. The others I am unaware if they are truly canon or not, Frostbear and 8-bit Baby are characters so unless proven otherwise, I consider them dubiously canon. The skins I do consider 100% canon though, are Chocolate Bonnie and Easter Bonnie, as they come from a Fazbear Entertainment owned Candy Shop itself.

So yeah, these guys have to be canon, they come from their own place. And... I think that's it for the story. It is a prequel to one game in the series, an infamous one that I will be tackling next...

Conclusion:

Fnaf AR is... a game, made by real people, money hungry people, but real people. The game was shut down and to say that I wasn't sad would be lying. I was a little bit sad, it was a game I grew up with a lot, I was invested in it, and I still hoped Illumix would come back with an overhaul of the game that showed their passion. They didn't. It's important to remember this game because while people will always bash it, it never was super bad for mobile game standards. It holds a special place in my heart and I'm glad I got to share it with you.
