Random Life Generation

It’s been a long time since we posted the last article, so here are some news about the development of Life Files.

First of all, the basic engine of the game is finished (finally!) and we recently started working on random life generation. Infact, we have planned that all the characters that won’t be controlled by the player are going to be random generated, so that they will have their own stories, behavior, job, economic situation…

Obviously, this won’t affect characters that are part of your character’s story; they will always be the same.

This new part of the game is going to take so much time to be done (a lot of coding).

We are also trying to make some randomly-generated parts of the city, and even random side-stories that are going to affect your character’s life and his relationship with the other people. We’re still not entirely sure about this, since this would take a lot of time and work to make, and that would probably posticipate the release of the game.

We have also started working on graphics, but all the content we currently have is incomplete and still needs to be refined. Also, most of the models in the game are still missing and textures still need to be done.

The last thing we wanted to talk about in this article is our new website. Infact, in the last month we have been thinking about opening our own website, to post all the news about our games’ development. The website will probably be up in the next month (further news in the next news article).

Again, thanks to everyone who follows and supports our project!

Strange Umbrella

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.

Spaaaace~

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Drawn in Piskel using my mouse. Whaddya think?

Here's a Fredbear sprite i made in Aseprite! I'm pretty proud of this!

(Btw, sorry for the double post! I'll try to post less)

I thought I would do a quick show and tell, with a 2 min video of the start of the game and some of the game elements, after many many months it is really starting to come together, time to start networking https://gamejolt.com/games/Dungeon_fable/490669
