Since returning to the game's development, I have found it very difficult to make progress. The code.
As the game began to develop in a different direction than originally planned, and became increasingly ambitious without a clear goal, many objects became completely unusable and were just junk in the game.
So a few days later, I started thinking about whether I should redo the game, but in a more organized way. The first option was to make the game completely identical to what it was, and the second option was to change the gameplay to make it more classic, like a roguelike.
As you can see in the video, I chose the second option, and I've been working on the cave generator. As you can see, it's still very primitive and needs a lot of improvement. Also, since the game didn't use moving cameras, it had the “CRT effect,” which was nothing more than an image over the entire game, but since the camera is no longer fixed, I had to remove it.
Because of this, I've thought about redoing most of the sprites (especially the ugliest ones) to create a more beautiful artistic style. So far, I've only done the rat, but I think it's much better than the previous one.
Anyway, I'll keep working on the cave generator, and then everything could be done faster, which in general could make for a much more addictive and replayable game.
As a reward for the long wait, I am thinking of releasing what I already had for version 0.3. Unfortunately, it would be incomplete and probably contain errors, but I would try to polish it as best as possible.
In the meantime, see you soon :D
