Sneak peak into the new gameplay style. Finally learned how to properly use these plugins, and even how to make i-frames
Need to figure out how to trim that end lag a little though. The dodge is kinda stiff since you really can't perform another one nor hit with the sword until full 60 frames pass. Which is just, uh, not idealâ„¢
At most, I am trying to shoot towards 15 frames of endlag, to keep the move from being spammable without sacrifying your response
As it is now, Dodge Hop is not a solid defensive option. But I am trying my best to make it on par with the Block
Blocking, of course, is done when you press "A" just before an attack hits you. If you time it correctly, you flash white and negate all the damage. Time it wrong and you flash pink while reducing half the damage the attack would've dealt, and it doesn't even cost a Shortcut Slot! You can mess up the timing sk bad you don't even get the half damage though
Maybe I'll tinker with making Dodge Hop an actual move instead of a shortcut, but I think that, if I fix the end lag issue, taking a Shortcut Slot would be proper balance. As it is now, it is underpowered because it's just worse Block. It's main advantage is that the timing window is way more generous
In case you are wondering, "Scan" makes it so you can actually see the enemies' health bars. If you have it deactivated, as I do in this video, you cannot see their HP. "No Experience" removes experience gains for the whole party. The defensive options I'm tinkering with are mostly to make sure Level 1 is actually possible, we don't want another Hunter's Mark fiasco now, do we?
