I think some of you might think this is about a kickstarter or something, but it isn't
So, recently, I've been working on the game on TurboWarp. It is a Scratch recreation that actually makes it worth using. I've been using Neo-GSE, although in widescreen, for about like 8 demos with little progress in between.
This is because my laptop is still broken, but with the arrival of the new school year, I've been able to work on it during free time.
Whenever I can figure a way to upload it within my limitations, you'll get the (very short, don't expect much) sb3 file of the current build so you can mess with the code and play as K.T.E or Sonic in Tail's level or mess with the tiles, and a packaged version that is downloadable.
When the final game is released, it will also get a sb3 file release, which will make it open source and a HTML downloadable version (which will be made with the TurboWarp packager).
Most likely, the first actually playable and good sized (in content) demo will be for Tails, with definitely Green Hill and it's creppier versions, Hide and Seek and 1 or 2 secret levels and their death scenes.
So as of now, I am going to make my own version of GSE built off Neo-GSE (which I'll also release for use with credit to me and all credited within) that uses a Tileset, because the Neo-GSE level system is hard to use with pixelated levels.
I'm making sprites on my own time outside of school, but the only actual development I get to do is in school during free time, which unfortunately is only about one class which is about an hour and a half long that I finish my work in in about 30 minutes, which leaves 45 minutes. There is another class that I sometimes get free time in, but that's usually only about 10-20 minutes.
In most of my other classes, I don't get free time. Where I live, we did get hit with snow in that big snowstorm situation in January and I did get a Chromebook for the weekend, one day, and 2 hours because of the delay. That's actually where I started development, but I still need to get more time.
The game is still in development, but it is very slow. When the time is right, I will release a trailer for it, but that's still far away.
I need to make an engine still, so expect a long wait time. I might base it off the current version of the game, but I am one person handling a massive project like this, and I'm also not the greatest at coding. I usually don't have enough time to even make a big change, really. On the weekend where I had a Chromebook, it took me about an hour and a half to make a build (which most could count as one because I continuously had to save)
So in the end, I am starting development. The screenshots are of spriting I am doing, and I do have music made (by me, of course) with a Genisis soundfont in FL Studio Mobile. I think that soon, I will finally be able to work on this, but I need to figure a lot out.
