This is something that is really hard to say for a game developer, but it’s the truth, and I can’t hide it. This way I won’t feel bad, and you won’t be disappointed.
I was never sure about the release date of PYRO-ILLUSION, and even if I wasn’t publicly announcing a day, it always kept changing in my mind.
It was set to be released on the 31th of May, I’m already alerting you, it won’t come out that day.
Before the 2nd trailer got released, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted for the game, ideas kept coming, and got bigger and bigger, I literally didn’t know where to stop the story and the gameplay. This was basically why I couldn’t really give you a specific release date, nor a percentage.
Luckily, before releasing the Trailer 2, I took a deep breath, and set myself a goal to achieve, thus cutting off the possibility to add new ideas. And I’m pretty proud of what I have in mind for the game. So to sum up, I know exactly how the game is going to unfold. I though I could finish it around that day, but things got in my way.
Now, the only thing left: LOTS of work.
As a reminder to all of you, it’s just me one working on this project. All the soundtracks that you will hear, the sounds, models, graphics, programming (…) are made by me. This is a huge amount of work!
There is still a LOT to do. I don’t want to make a simple FNAF game. There is so much already in the game! But all of this take time.
Is it worth it? Meh… I’m starting to doubt…
Besides that, many things are happening now for me. 2 major things actually.
Studies (I had the opportunity to get accepted at one of the best universities in the world, I can’t miss that! I have a lot of work to deal with) and a lack of motivation (let’s admit it, it’s been more than a year and a half that I’ve been working on PYRO-ILLUSION, I sometimes like to do other stuff as well…).
Anyways, the release date gets reset, again, no specific day.
This way, I can focus on studies, not rush PYRO-ILLUSION (I want a PERFECT game, no bugs, memorable gameplay), and do other stuff in my free time.
Speaking of which, I discovered this awesome drawing software. Drawing is something I always wanted to be good at, turns out I’m not a great one, but I still managed to surprise myself yesterday. Lately, I’m trying out colors and shading
(Thanks you @TheresNoSteak for the sketches!)
Hey, I hope you’re really going to love it once it’s out, I’ve put my heart into this game! ;)
Thanks for your understanding! Thanks for all of the dedicated fans!
