Alright, now that it's all out, we wanted to give parting words from some teammates and I

I joined this project YEARS ago, back when it was called Dustswap: Reckoning, and was owned by Epic, who is now the co-owner of the project. Since then, both before and after Epick became the director of the project, I've had such a great time collaborating with all of the team members and contributing to the project with my own ideas. There were definitely some times where development was slow (school kind of cooked all of us lol), but we pulled through and managed to release the game in a timely manner. The bugs also got a little crazy, there were a few times that Epick and I thought it was over forever...luckily we survived them, but I'm glad we got to suffer through those game-breaking bugs together lol. I also would like to appreciate all the work and effort every team member poured into this project. Each one of us played a special role, and this project wouldn't be what it is today without the wonderful contributions the other team members have made. All in all, I had a lot of fun working on this project, and I hope you guys enjoy the game! :) -dingy
TheRedCrystal:
hello i am theredcrystal, a musician for this project. i arrived at this project through a friend named epic who was already on the team, who recommended to the director that i join the project. the first song i made for this project was final encounter phase 2โs song. wow, that was almost two years ago holy shit. i made a bunch of other songs, and then boom, were here game done. one of my favorite team projects ive worked on, im so happy to see that its finished, great job team
Chloe:
as a writer I shall honor my role by writing a fuckin essay; name's Chloe (@Chloerine) and I'm the team member w the least time here (5 months dear god) but regardless of the fact I've missed a good chunk of the game's development I have greatly enjoyed putting work into this project and I am proud of the result being delivered to all the feral little gremlins rushing into the game page to download it, as well as I am amazed by the sheer passion that every team member has put into their contributions to the final product, it feels not so much of a silly game made for fun but instead of a massive work of art composed by some brilliant people, which honestly I feel like it less and less common (if this feels like a jab to some people, good, that's what I want you to feel) and I hope this game inspires others to follow a similar path (although not equal, if you dare make a copy pasted take on this game with a few minor differences, misery be upon you) I feel like if I had to have an outtake of the time I've spent of this project it'd be "don't stop making art", human creativity is something that becomes more scarce by the day and should be preserved at all costs, even if you don't think your art is good, whether it's music, drawing, writing whatever you can think of, don't give up, there's always room to improve and one day you'll feel proud of where you've come -Chloe (disc: @chloecanyoukys)
please interact with every rock in the game
Dendy:
Hi im Dendy I have no idea where did I join this project but was mostly bc I met epickthan in the Kaboom team, and so he invited me here Im not a member itself but more like a contributor Was good to bring some art references and inspirations to the game, mostly madoka magica stuff bc I was in ( and kinda im still in ) my brainrot era to that anime, is so cool y'all should watch it Im happy to see this project is actually releasing, glad to help with some slight stuff as half attack idea and one editing part of the release date trailer thing yeah a lot of stuff
Ochaku:
The best game ever
Krajoz:
Hi im krajoz, ive been a musician for this game for about 4 years i think? It's pretty weird to talk about because the most notable thing I've made is remake the same song like 10 different times lmao Working on this project has been really enjoyable, especially when it came to testing the game and finding a lot of small issues or glitches, along with coming up with new mechanics or feedback like the flashlight mechanic. I'm really glad to have been a part of this project and I wish we could do more in the future ty also follow me here thanks https://krajoz.carrd.co/

This is gonna be a doozy to write, but it's honestly worth sharing how much of a journey this was cus like wow. All started when Epic (Hussein H.) invited me to join his project as a spriter for his iteration of Reckoning. I was honestly more than psyched to be apart of a team that had at least some form of notability. I mean, who didn't love sans sprite sillouhettes that implied a super cool looking sprite? Or 10ish second track teasers that sounded crazy?
Anyways, team eventually died off which was unfortunate since some people broke off of the server never to be seen again. I made some concepts, but there wasn't really much progress. In a funny way, this created a nice opportunity since without much progress besides concepts, there was no real progress needed to get omitted. So I restarted the game from the ground up, merging some concepts from the older iteration while putting ideas I fawned over when thinking about Dusttrust takes.
Essentially take this game as a love letter to all of the Dusttrust takes that we've seen come and go, as a ton of ideas and intentional things in this game were from inspiration. I also obsessed over placing weird abstract art styles that like emphasized on psychology and thought putting it over an AU with nothing but edge and angst was only fair.
I would also would love to thank literally all of my teammates for all of the insane work they've put in. While solo deving is certainly an option, this game would not nearly be as finished or at the level it was without other people working on it. The amount of talent I was able to witness was honestly wild, and I'm super grateful everyone was able to create a whole, complete, project. I also paid NO ONE, which is insane considering that means that this game was built off of pure motivation and love for all things Dusttrust.
Speaking of Dusttrust in general, on a more personal note I find it insane how I first even discovered about such a specific and niche au. I legitimately just came across a youtube video on Team Dusttrust's Dusttrust, which initially i thought was cringey, but then it somehow grew on me for its niches and nuances. I started making fanart and like once in a while concepts that added maybe a modicum of original thought. It was sort of my guilty pleasure, since I'mma be real this AU is extremely absurd and illogical. But still, the stuff it introduced to me and the niches it conveyed was special. Weirdly enough, seeing all of the other Dusttrust iterations, especially the official ones getting cancelled somehow propelled my motivation. I'd say it was from how it got more and more frustrating that development hell is all somewhat inevitable for such a specific AU. Despite that, all of these takes had so many good ideas that still captivate me to this DAY. Yes, even the ones from 2021 when everyone worshipped placing like 10 layers of shaders and making every dialogue like a one liner aura farm.
So yah, enjoy this super fun and epic game and also my crazy plug in case you wanna see any future or other works that don't involve nearly as much edgy skeleton:
