Hi there!
Here's a small update to prime you for the bigger content-focused one later this month. I mostly focused on adding quality of life features, as well as doing some last minute polishing-up.
Here's the changelog:
New features:
Added borders (imported from Deltarune)! "Dynamic" border mode is now the intended experience.
Added a pause menu. Right click while in a level to pause!
Added volume sliders to the options menu, as per popular demand.
Added a "skip credits" option.
Added a game icon.
Added a tiny teaser for what's to come, on the level select screen...
Changes:
Running over entities at 100mph now has a chance to double the items dropped, giving it a practical use in levels 1 and 2.
Tweaked the Knight fight. Star bullets can no longer be jumped over. Additionally, added some slight randomness in how damage is calculated. Hitting the knight at medium speed is now less punishing, but less consistent. Also, tree obstacles have been removed from their level to allow for easier no-hits.
The game's resolution has been changed to allow for sprite borders.
Fixes:
Fixed the title screen theme not looping if you stay on it for too long.
Removed the "DEBUG" text from the game window.
Removed a leaf particle effect that incorrectly triggered on Pizzapants.
Give it a download! It should be available on the main page. There's also now a Vulkan version available, which should fix the graphical errors that some people are getting on certain hardware.
Before I go, I just wanted to give a massive thanks for the amount of support this silly little project has been getting. Every time someone makes a video about the game, me and Tiz rush to link it to each other (whichever of us didn't see it first) and we hyperventilate a little bit and celebrate. The overwhelming positive reception has been a little bit scary, but amazing nonetheless.
I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Merg, Kwite, Vinesauce Joel, LuigiKid and soon Phisnom for showcasing our game, and a gigantic super-special thanks to Sneegsnag, Shayy and Epicified for being early supporters!!!
A massive shout-out to the beta testers who caught some massive game-breaking bugs in both v.1.1 AND v.1.0: Aspoitssa, Bigmonki, ArtsyAria (my beautiful girlfriend <3), Marshie, Soup Taels, and our STAR TESTERS: KnuckleDuster (who no-hit the knight twice) and AmericanMario (who had to be sacrified). Their feedback has helped a LOT.
By the way! Tizielechicero has commissions open.

If you like the art in BERGENTRUCK (and crazy eldritch horrors), the majority of it was done by Tiz! Go buy some art from them, they're crazy talented and the support helps a lot <3

Alright, that's enough yapping. Enjoy the new, streamlined experience!
