REX Version 1.3: New Pieces, New Logo, More Options, Better AI


REX has just been updated to version 1.3 for PC, Mac and Linux.

What has changed:

  • Play as Red
    You can now play as the Red Team during single-player games against the computer! Just press S on your keyboard (for “swap sides”)!

  • New Logo & Improved Menus

  • Smarter AI
    The Skilled, Expert and Impossible AIs now make better decisions in certain scenarios, and the Duel AIs make fewer mistakes.

  • New Piece Styles
    You can now press “P” during play to cycle through the piece style options. There are two new options. The first is a more traditional board game style:

  • New Sound Effects
    There are now many more sound effects, one for every player interaction. (I think! Let me know if I’ve missed anything!)

  • Many Small Code Improvements
    A lot of small bugs have been fixed and many small parts of the code have been improved.
