Sanicball: Alpha (v0.8)

Sanicball: Alpha has been undiscontinued (Or something)

(From Sanicball’s devblog)

I’ve been working on Sanicball again lately. I have a lot of new ideas, and some of them have begun turning into half-finished features. There’s really nothing all that interesting to show yet but hopefully there will be soon.

My plan is to pull it a slight bit out of the ‘meme’ territory and make it more of a proper racing game. I’ll keep the stupid faces and internet culture references (Removing them would be like tearing out the heart of the game), but future content will mostly just be about making it a better and more fun experience.

This is what I’m working on right now:

  • Engine upgrade to Unity 5, with improved shaders, image effects and physics. The stuck-in-ground bug is finally fixed and I didn’t have to do a thing!

  • New system for AI pathfinding - less lag, multiple routes, slightly more intelligent

  • New camera, no more mouse control. The camera simply looks in the direction you are rolling. It also orients itself when rolling on a curved road or upside-down. Loops are now a possibility.

  • Completely written menu system, using Unity’s new UI tools. Also hopefully a bit prettier than the old one

  • Neatly decorated lobby for comfy multiplayer sessions

There’s no point in listing everything else as the ideas change all the time.

So yeah. Sanicball is no longer discontinued.

It’s never ogre.

Why walk when you can jump?

If you have more of an acquired taste, the restaurants in Niravasi have you covered! Maybe skip the salad bar, though.

...they don`t have names yet tho

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
