Seb's Devlog #158: 11/24/2024

Well... Thanksgiving is coming...

I hate Thanksgiving.

But let's talk about development, this time, for "JA4".

Remember when back at #147 where I complained how hard it was to convert Pokemon skills into SMT? Well, I found a solution. Just throw out the Pokemon elements BUT Psychic, mix Persona 2, Digital Devil Saga, and Persona 3 together, and then inject Psychic into it, and now we're staying with 13 (Technically 14, this includes Healing.;) elements. Now to condense, there's going to be a universal skill list (A hybrid of P2, DDS, P3, and SMTV) and then whatever crap for character exclusive skills, including skills learned at Level Ups AND whatever I'm calling for Move Tutors, they're not gonna be called Move Tutors because they're not really moves, just skills. This is for the better since I just don't like redoing the Skill database over and over.

Unfortunately, this means translating a lot of skills into something else completely but whatever, we'll cross that issue later. Plus, that means elements have to be merged into the system. Examples include Flying moves being either Strike skills or just Force skills, Ground and Rock moves being just Earth Skills, Ghost (And also possibly Dark?) moves being Dark skills, and Fairy moves being Light skills. And that has to be considered for other characters to follow this rule.

See you later I suppose.

Fan art for Foolish I'm feeling kinda better so I drew this

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

Family band complete!

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Explosive domino effect
