Inside the game's office, instead of cameras you'll find 5 monitors on the desk that act as your way of seeing the characters progression. Sometimes, on these monitors, the feed will be replaced by a threat, of which can appear on one of the monitors.
If said threat appears on a monitor, looking at the device affected will revert it back to normal. But, the longer you leave the threat on the monitor, the higher your Panic will get. If your Panic maxes out, you die.
However, your Panic will decrease when the threat is not corrupting one of your monitors, giving some notion of leeway.

Why: If your Panic accumulates, it soon becomes hard to see, and if your Panic goes up too high, before death, you'll become unable to even MOVE. When this happens, all you can do is wait for death to take you. The Panic Meter should be low at all times, but you can let it accumulate a bit if you need to deal with another threat.
