Gah, sorry. I wanted this thing out weeks ago but a lot has come up.

I talked more so on Angel's Lullaby but I lost a lot of motivation with game development -up until making NightFell, which came out of nowhere and made me excited again.

But after a couple of weeks, I intended to jump right into this but... I've been struck with a pretty bad brain fog. I had some pretty awful personal news and my musician had an injury. (I'm not comfortable disclosing details, sorry)

I don't say this for pity points but rather to explain why the game got delayed -I've been trying to work on it gradually. It's getting there, it's just slower than how I wanted it to be.

But! Now we've crossed the hard part and its just a matter of finishing the dang thing. Script (excluding the Ruins, which I'll finish after the surface section) is done and I already got all the rooms and first cutscenes in. The cutscenes aren't polished yet as need to be timed to the music, which will be ready soon.

I should have a rough version done (again, excluding the ruins part) in a week's worth of effort -but with the other things I got going on, I won't be able to work on this everyday. Sigh. I wish I could just take a week off work and just make games!!! 😭

An Important Thing to Consider

I should mention for non-comic readers that the sidestory focuses on Gus, the orange SOULed human. I highly recommend reading the comic to understand why we're getting their backstory. ^_^ sorry if it feels out of place right now.

My plan, once some more chaotic things going on in my life clear up, is to try to catch up New Royals to the comic's progress. At the very least, all sidestories will be video games. Sadly, this makes things confusing to non-readers, but the chapter selection screen should make it a lil more understanding as it's placed further along the story's chapters.

With that in mind, please take the time to read the comic within the next few weeks. I'm not going to give a release date as I've said, it's a bit chaotic right now, but I hope to have one soon! Definitely within the next two months, ideally sooner rather than later.
