Over the past few days, I've been stressing (too much) on what I want to do with this game, not gonna lie. I've considered swapping game engines, but that just seems like it would take forever, and I don't think I would want to do that lol.
While the "remake from the ground up" has made a bit of progress, I think I'm going to make a change of plans, because I don't really want to sit down and go through the process of remaking something I've already made for the hundredth time, and I think that's what's been heavily slowing me down on this project.
Instead, I'm going to attempt to make Showman's: The Awakening an "updated version" of Phobia: The Awakening. This saves time for me, but also gives me practice on what I'll need to be doing to Long Hours once I hop back into development on it. If this ends up not being possible (which I honestly doubt), then I'll continue remaking it from the ground up and just cry about it I guess lmao.
This isn't bad news; this is great news! While it might sound lazy of me to just reskin the old game, I can assure you that there's going to be a lot more work put into this than what you might think at first. A lot will stay the same, such as the atmosphere, the music, the sounds and more, but things like the environments will get a huge makeover, and there will definitely be some new surprises here and there!
Even better, by doing this, things could get finished faster, and I can return to development on Long Hours!
