After the small step forward in Patch 4.0.3 a few months ago, I wasn’t sure if I’d release another update for MKDOTE. My focus has shifted to new projects, and especially toward creating something original — a brand-new fighting game about historical civilizations, which I’ve already shared here on GameJolt.
During this time, I kept receiving comments, emails, and messages with the same question: “Is Blaze playable?”
Seeing that so many of you were still interested in the game motivated me to prepare one more update before moving forward.
So before fully stepping into new projects, I wanted to leave you with a small gift. This patch isn’t huge, but it’s meaningful: it makes Blaze officially playable, polishes a few classic stages and portraits, and removes a mechanic that no longer fits the direction I want MKDOTE to reflect.
For more context about what I’ve been working on — and what comes next — I invite you to check out the video I just uploaded to my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IacsR_xRSX8&t=4s.
Thank you for being here, for your patience, and for the energy you’ve given this fan game over the years. ❤️
🛠️ Technical Changelog – Version 4.0.4

🕹️ New playable character: Blaze has been officially enabled.
🧩 Stage updates: Edited sprites for Goro’s Lair, The Pit, and Dead Pool.
🎨 Portrait updates: Adjustments to Scarlet and Ermac portraits.
❌ Legacy mechanic removed: All Hara-Kiris have been eliminated for consistency with the project’s current vision.
Additional notes:
This version updates the game from v4.0.3 → v4.0.4.

This is now the recommended and official build of MKDOTE.
See you at the tournament — and maybe, on the battlefield of history.
