Game
The Third Layer

Small update - I don’t remember the date you’ll see it in the post timing probably.

Hello, I’m here again to talk some about another aspect of TTL that I’m putting a lot of careful thought into, the designs. The character shown off in the games main image is none other than the big man himself Freddy Fazbear. His design takes a bit of inspiration from Ramenov’s work in JRs, this was the main inspiration that lead to the creation of his teeth in specific.

But as you can probably tell, in the more recent versions of this model he seems to have grown some extra heads within his body! This was a change brought about me feeling that his design was completely plain compared to all the other designs I had thought up. Within the month of creating him on and off this was something that greatly troubled me, he is the face of the series of five nights at Freddy’s yet he was just a spooky flesh monster while everyone else would be sporting very unique design elements.

The solution came to me while I was showering, as most of my proudest ideas tend to. I was thinking back to my earlier years looking at fnaf and seeing the original nightmare freddy teaser. A large misconception I had at the time about the design was the freddles, I never noticed the arms and bodies and simply thought they were extra heads on his body! I don’t exactly know why this came to me when it did but I recognized the opportunity and took it, personally the results were great. Albiet I am working on making the small heads much more intimidating as they turned out very very cute in hindsight when I first made them.

My goal with the cast is to create interesting designs that exist to do more than be really spoooooky flesh monsters. They all will have small animation quirks within them, an example is that I have assigned personalities to the separated heads on Freddy. The one on his shoulder is timid, the one in his chest is hyperactive and bouncy, the one on his lower torso has some screws loose and doesn’t understand a damn thing half the time! It makes animation with the character rig much more enjoyable.

Finally I’ll talk about some of the earlier considerations of his design, the first thing I did when I had the idea to make a body horror fnaf design was to make a really lazy sketch. As you can see by the sketch the model itself looks nothing alike, personally as an artist one of my flaws is not looking at references while working. This is something that seems to behave differently in the world of modeling, I feel improvising parts of a design as you go is a much more dynamic way to build designs. If you look at the images you can see a little bit of how the textures and feel begin to slowly change.

While the model isn’t fully complete yet I will be posting an updated render to the page when it is. Thank you for reading and I will see you in the next post.

Part of why I didn't want to make a game page this soon is bcuz I might have changed things. The models are getting my full effort now. Disregard all old posts.

nothing to really show rn except this placeholder

Doing some finalizations [for real this time] The flesh texture is perfected now.

Photobombed.

Detail time (help me)

Hello, it has been a while.

Sadly the coder for the project has had to depart.

I will be creating all of the game’s assets before looking for a new one.

“The man who came back from the dead once again returned within the shadows of people’s minds…”

looking for a coder [someone who knows their stuff]
