Eagle-eyed individuals might have noticed that this game page has been barren for quite a while! As a team, we should probably answer for that...
In short, we burnt ourselves out a little. There was a period when we would do nothing but work on the game, brainstorm events, back and forth the mod on call, plug it into RPGMaker, and make magic happen. And it was great! But as things go, it's not very healthy to develop in that kind of way. Constant teasers are a nice bar of progress, but you can overwhelm a team quickly if you try to keep on that path for too long. Progress requires time, deliberation, a narrow vision of what the future holds, and a yardstick to measure where to go from your creativity to the screen. To explain the absence, long story short, we got to be a bit too busy. Which sucks.
So to all those asking... is the mod cancelled...?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
We've brought ourselves out of intellectual and laziness-driven retirement to finish the game fair and square! Will it be perfect? Probably not. Will it be everyone's favorite fanmod for SOTWS? Probably not, we've gone in directions not everyone would have chosen to go in. but will it be our pride and joy? Yes it will.
In terms of rough development, we're about two-thirds of the way done with the mod. You can mark it up to three-fourths if you want to be generous. We've got a coupla lose-end areas to remix content in, the finale of the mod, and extensive bug-testing ahead of us, which will keep us busy for a while.
To anyone who has ever thought, "Man, I wonder what happened to that Mack mod. It looked so cool." Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts. Every nice comment and kind words helped us to pick ourselves up by our bootstraps and finally decide to tackle this thing again.
