This is something I wish to get off my chest following this game's release, and I feel it should apply to all corners of life, not just fan games like this one.

I'm going to make it clear now - the only way a vent work can deliver the intended message is if its creator is going through a hard patch in real life, like Devy was while working on this game and how song composer Awe was feeling like their work didn't receive due appreciation, expressed through "I Can't See What's Ahead Of Me" as a song.

Where it doesn't work is if you're blatantly using the format as a means of seeking attention from sympathetic people not in the know about any bad actions you've caused (notable examples I've seen being both Orbitcruz and TurboTH pulling such a stunt after being called out for several bad actions both had been doing).

Like, taking advantage of people's emotions for your own gain is just plain selfish, and you should be ashamed of yourself as a human being if you're going to stoop that low just because someone disagreed with your actions! If you're faking suffering just for a few hundred quick views of your work, I really feel you need to reconsider your life choices.

For clarity, it's fine if you wish to take mild inspiration from The Incident if you're going through a rough patch and are unsure of how to express it, but don't blatantly copy the format presented here! Trust me, there isn't going to be any ripoff of this that delivers the right message to people.

Again, the venting format only works if you're actually going through rough times, not if you aren't actually in pain and are just trying to exploit people's kindness for clout and your own agenda! Anyone doing the latter shamelessly (not naming any further names here, you know who you are) is a SERIOUS disappointment.
