Just a brief update on the game’s current state
We’re all working hard to get this demo finished. There’s a lot left to do however, and most of us are working in our free time. However, with summer approaching, hopefully we’ll be able to get much more done. I am working on polishing up the visuals and building the village while our programmer works on finishing up the dialogue system, hopefully everything big getting done now will help lighten the workload for later areas of the game.
As you can see from this screenshot, the pine trees now have a new model. I’m actually pretty proud of how this is looking so far.
Also there’s this rock.
It is a very nice rock.
Anyways, along with visuals and behaviors, I’ve also been working on optimizing the game better because of a few people having issues running it. The new post-processing effects are much lighter than the previous ones (the game is running at 30fps maximized on my computer which is actually the best it’s ever done) and I also removed the Fancy shader-based grass, just placing grass prefabs around the edges of buildings and such. It’s definitely helped out.
Hopefully the game will be as bug-free as it can get in the demo, and once that’s out if you have any issues running the game or have any suggestions we will work on patching it.
