SR Devlog #4: Actual, Visible Work


Good Afternoon peeps,

This month, with all of the skill bullshit done, I've been focused more on some of the other factors so I don't go insane, so let's review some of them.


Items

With new icons and colors, things are sure to spiffy on using items. I've also decided to redo how items were. Besides the Dg and Ap I've mentioned to add a few devlogs ago, I realized that using the smaller items just weren't that useful, so I had an idea to make them percent based so that they'll remain consitantly good throughout the game. However, this came with the caveat that the game would be hell as 5% 600 hp is like 30, so I had another thought and cam up with the idea of minimum heals. It would allow the recipient to be healed for a percent heal, but with the minimum, it wouldn't bog down healing if the user was below a reasonable threshold for whatever reason. So I hope that atleast gives some confidence in you that items won't just become worthless after a while.


Weapons and Armor

Also updated the equipment so you put the icons to names. Besides doing a few small tweaks to the name convention, icons, and descriptions, but they've been kept the same stats so it's more of an aesthetic change. Very minor, but I feel that it was important to get all the graphics in the game up to snuff.


Statuses

Statuses are now fully complete and working. Besides a few rebalances here and there, the base statuses are done. As one of the core backbones of the game, it's important that their done to the best of my ability so that a status focused gameplay feels both rewarding and not bullshit for either side. I can't exactly show them off here (as a screen shot of an attack doing more damage or hp being drained isn't that exciting), but I'm sure you'll see more off them in the next demo/full release.


Other Stuff

To be honest with guys, this month was mostly spent with me hard at work with some things that aren't exactly interesting. Like do you really need to hear how I spent 3+ days organizing the custom "little" scriptlets folder to make some of the color shit work without full plugins? To cut it short, it was long and tedious but I got it done, not exactly hype worthy content, am I right? But it was important (to me atleast) for the game to move forward, but that means there's not exactly a lot of flashy shit for me to show off, except for this one thing....
