Hey everyone,
That's right, my Twitter account, @Popgoes6, has been permanently suspended after I made a joke about killing JonnyBlox (a FNAF YouTuber and friend of mine) for stealing a reaction gif.
The tweet was reported by a troll, and Twitter instantly detected it as a genuine "violent threat", removing it and my Twitter account. My appeal against it has been denied (possibly by an actual person).
Exaggerative threats like this, between friends and with obvious lighthearted context, are completely allowed on Twitter as per their "Violent Threats Policy". But I believe Twitter only sees the text within the tweet itself when receiving a report, meaning all they saw was me saying "I'll kill you." which they have deemed to be a real threat.
Here is proof that, in the actual context of the tweet, no rules were broken:
That's right. 7 years on Twitter. 56,000+ followers. Not one rule broken. Gone forever.
I am not allowed to make any new accounts or use any pre-existing accounts. That counts as ban evasion. I'm going to stay away from the platform for now.
I want to thank everyone who has been publicly supporting me on Twitter while I've had to deal with the suspension. That includes Dawko, Phisnom, Razzbowski, GrigLager, WwwWario, Turntail, and JonnyBlox (the "victim" of my threat...):
This won't affect the development of POPGOES Evergreen/Arcade, but I am taking a bit of a "strike" on sharing any content until it is resolved. No teasers, no updates, no releases.
And in the event that my account is reinstated, I will release the Blake the Badger wallpaper, in full, to celebrate.
Thanks for reading. I hope this explains what's been going on.
Kane
