The Tale
"The Sky.
your world is surrounded by it, and it’s many stars.
You humans watch upon those stars. Staring at the shines in the night sky, Light years away from your very place in the universe. With very little thought to them..
Little do they know, that I am one of those stars.
One of the shines in the night sky?
That is me.
When you stare at the stars, I used to stare right back.
And you didn't even know it.
you wouldn’t understand anyway.
As I watched you all down there, my confusion grew, but my curiosity did aswell.
You made advanced softwares using complex wiring just for entertainment.
A way to escape from the real world you all lived in.
I was mostly intrigued by the things created for those escapist machines.. with one of them being that speedy blue rodent.
I grew a sort of obsession over it. I’d watch thousands of people, millions even, play little games and adventures surrounding this mascot of sorts.
But:
One fateful night.
I fell.
I crashed down in a remote area of your planet.
Something happened when I collided with the lively green floor.
I could move.
I could hear..
I had gained a new, abstracted form.
I hid myself to not freak out the beings I’ve watched for oh so long.
Then I found it.
One of your machines.
Sitting there, under a soft yellow light, surrounded by cartridges, and other junk.
I wondered, “could I have it for myself? Could I explore what these bipedal mammals, have created with their bare hands?”
I snuck into the temple where it was held, and walked past the many wonders that you all have created. And then there it was.
“SEGA Saturn.”
It seemed to have a cartridge stuffed inside, reading,
“Sonic R”
The rodent was on its front, amongst the geometric forest, with the echidna, and their fox.
I grabbed it, but something in a split second occurred;
I was sucked in.
It felt weird, fuzzy.
It was pitch black, a void of which reminisced my night sky. I felt like I had branched around, as if I were veins.
I could feel the circuits, the wires, the metal. It was all connected to me.
With one thought, I turned the machine on, some way some how I had became its energy source.
Everything was slow, and I couldn’t make out anything around me, until I could recognize the green patterns and wavey water.
I was in the game that featured the blue rodent I so adored.
The game couldn’t process my existence it seemed. And I defaulted to him,
“Sonic.”
Though I was malformed, and missing limbs.
Such as the legs,
And my textures were rearranged, and misplaced in ways that made me appear with no face,
But I can still move, I can still see..
I could view everything in the game.
Every file, every texture, everything was under my control
It was if I was god, and this was my creation.
And now, I am no longer part of gods world, I am now in my own.
One amongst the people who stared above at me.
I am one
With the people who gazed at the stars;
A stargazer."
