The Banana Splits Forgotten Episode

I remember the day like yesterday. It was a crisp Winter morning, With a lot of leaves in the air. It was January, and I was just about five years old. I was happy, it was Saturday. My mother had to run some errands, and my father was at work (surprisingly on a Friday) I was the younger child. It was only 2014, so I wasn't really surprised of my friend Derek suggesting a DVD about The Banana Splits, an extremely old Hanna-Barbera TV Show from September 7 1968-September 5 1970.

It just said "The Banana Splits" with a poorly drawn image of Fleegle The Dog. There was no names on it.

"My mother got this for us to watch," My friend Derek said

"Are you sure about this dude?" I asked.

" Don't worry, I got all of our backs if there is something wrong James," my friend Derek replied.

Derek popped the DVD into the Player. Where the "coming soon to video cassette" was supposed to be, was just a timer for when the feature presentation was coming on. It kept shooting to static most of the time. I told Derek to eject the tape, he gave up.

Like on all of my other Tapes, the Hanna-Barbera logo was just purple, instead of yellow or red.

Next thing we saw, was a Weird Sid And Marty Krofft Logo where the Puff n Stuff guy from the "HR Puff n Stuff " was beating up the other characters. Me and Derek talked that this was Child Abuse or something. I needed to find out why the DVD was so weird.

The Banana Splits Theme Song started. The Background Music was "Boo's Tired" by Randy Newman from Monsters Inc instead of the joyful "Tra La La" theme song Throughout the whole Theme song, The Banana Splits themselves all looked Sad and depressed. they all pretended to Smile.

When the Episode started, The Screen turned to static. The next scene showed Bingo and Snorky, but for some odd reason, Snorky and Bingo both sounded like drunk people. Drooper greeted them and Snorky said that he won't show Bingo his game and Bingo said that he won't show Snorky his game.

There was a Little bit of static, then everyone was eating Toast. Fleegle was sitting on the desk. He was rather sad and depressed, and he was crying. It didn't sound like acting, it sounded as if the voice actor for Fleegle, Paul Winchell, was actually depressed...

Then the screen turned to static, i thought i could make 666 out of the Static. I told Derek to dial 911. He gave up, so we had to watch the whole thing then. Me and Derek talked if this WAS actually made by Hanna-Barbera.

Then it cut to something. Instead of segments, like the arabian knights, or danger island, or micro venture, there were actual clips of actual animals being tortured and being killed, like pigs, cows, chickens, horses, rabbits, cats, dogs, birds, bears, cougars, frogs, lizards, apes etc..

Derek almost threw up but he held in his puke. I was even sickened by this.

The Scenes then ended. The Next Scene then showed Bingo and Drooper realistically yelling at each other, and both fighting for some reason....

Static came. After the Static ended, Fleegle was crying because Blood was all over him. Then all 4 of the Banana Splits, alongside Fleegle The Dog, were all hanging on somethings what I believed were Nooses with Blood drooling.

The Hanna-Barbera and Boomerang logos both came on and they were both shaped like knives. On the handle, there was a small label with the number 666 on it. Also on it was text saying "I Know Where You Live..." There were no credits.

The screen then bursted with static and the power went out. Derek smashed the DVD to bits and put the bits in the Garbage Chute behind our Backyard which leads to the Incinerator. When the Power went back on, i emailed the Hanna-Barbera and Boomerang and told them about my WHOLE Experience. Then i got a Email back, it was from the companies that created The Banana Splits themselves....

Dear James Cerda,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us. We were quite surprised by your story about the unaired episode of The Banana Splits that you discovered. We are grateful that you contacted us concerning it. We can personally assure you that we claim no ownership or liability whatsoever regarding the episode. However, we still feel that an explanation is in order.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide details of the tape's creation, as we simply do not know how this happened.

Back in September 6, 1970 (the day after the banana splits adventure hour ended), we received a DVD in a package with no return address. The DVD had no words, it just said "The Banana Splits" with a Poorly drawn image of Fleegle The Dog. Along with the tape, there was a letter from Joseph Barbera from Yogi Bear and The Scooby Doo show, stating that he was the "biggest fan" of The Banana Splits (both the Books, and the Show) and asked for our approval to air his "fan-made creation" on television.

We were quite flattered that a fan would send us a fan-made episode for airing. However, when our editors viewed the episode for refinement, they were quite appalled by its nature. A few of the staff who viewed the episode unbelievably went into shock and had to be transported to the emergency room immediately.

Due to the horrifying content, we had absolutely no plans to air this episode. We passed the tape to a private collector, but we were dismayed to discover that he had many copies made. We ask that you please do not release the contents of the tape or this letter to the public, as we do not want to upset the viewers who love and support our shows for young children.

With warm regards,

Hanna-Barbera and Boomerang

Creators of The Banana Splits

I will never forget that day. It was January 28 2014, it was the day my life changed.

I have a condition where i can't sleep, my buddy Derek had Schizophrenia, because he kept telling me he saw four tall animalistic figurines that look like The Banana Splits broke into his house and were about to kill him, my brothers were rude to other people, and my parents hated their Jobs. The Banana Splits DVD is why my own life is like this.

The Episode is called "Silence". I wish this never happened.

I have Nightmares about it, at least it's gone now, and i'm alive, for now...

I already know why this existed.... in 2019, a horror comedy direct to video horror movie "The Banana Splits Movie" based on the 60's TV show actually happened.

I also heard that alot of people hated the movie too much... but one 12 year old kid, drew a picture of what the episode scene looked like, but I couldn't find it on Deviantart now, because it got deleted, because of violated guidelines....
