The Future of S.A.D.


No, the game is not cancelled if you’re wondering. Please read on.

In between TNABL, this game, and another project, we’ve been working as hard as possible to get them all done. We made TNABL before this to sort of practice my skills with AI and things like that. Since we didn’t know a lot about making a gigantic game like S.A.D. will be, we needed a bit of practice.

Now, we do have a lot done with the game. In fact, we’ve rendered quite a lot of the rooms. There are 49 rooms in the game, and with it being a “fake” free-roam, we need to render the views from both ways: going to and coming from. we also need to render any animations with The Enemy in the rooms, which will take a while to make since we're not good with animating in Blender. In total, that’s over 200 different rooms. And that’s just for the images!

We need to figure out a good control scheme that works with the way the game works, and we also need to figure out how to implement the minigames (as hinted at by the OST) into the main gameplay.

In all, S.A.D. is about 30% done. We expect to be done with it by 2020. If you can’t wait that long for the game, we understand. We can’t either.

You can unfollow the game if you get tired of waiting or get too anxious for the release. But remember, we don’t want to be rushed. We want to make this game as good as possible. S.A.D. will be a decent game. And we will make sure that no matter what, you will be satisfied with what I’ve done.

So no, we will never cancel the game. we will keep working on it until we either die or pass out from exhaustion.

Remember: it has no regrets.

Good news! CR1419's sister was the first beta tester, and she says she isn't scared by anything. The moment she got jumpscared, she literally jumped. That means we're doing our job, lol (also, expect a demo/full release by April)

what's inside

PSA :: We're working as hard as we can on S.A.D. Between employee lives, families, and this game, this is our third priority. We need time to make it, and we don't want to be rushed.
