An introspective

The Kostas Vs. Thanos Game (TKVTG) is a game I developed all the way back in 2021, which, as you may know, turned three years old a few months ago. This game was meant to be a joke between a group of friends, something you could tell by how the first game looks like. However, I would end up giving some updates to it & even release a “remastered” installment of the saga about a year & a half ago, known as The Kostas Vs. Thanos Game Plus.

Some of you may know I'm quite an emotional person. Well, allow me to express what I'm feeling right now. It's been a rollercoaster, hasn't it? Time flies by fast, & sometimes we don't even realize. I've recently just turned 17 years old & lots of things are about to change this year for me, which is… scary. However, I'm determined to see what the future holds. What can I say about the past, though? Well, I have definitely changed… I'm not the same person I used to be a few years ago. The Kostas Vs. Thanos Game is, in the end, a mockery of past selves. Kostas has changed a lot too, hence why it's the main subject of the saga. However, the past is not all about mockery. We look back & some of us may remember the good amount of smiles & innocence we used to have. Perhaps that may not be your case, but that's why the future exists, to look for new opportunities.

This update is not meant to be revolutionary, include lots of features like TKVTGP did or be a top-notch project. Some of you may wonder why I've given this game an update at all. So, before I spill out any more words, I'd like to hand you a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section to get your doubts resolved.

FAQ

Why have you updated TKVTG to v2.00?

There are actually a few reasons why I did. Firstly, I noticed that this game was very much unplayable due to recent updates done by Windows. For some reason, the game's sleep margin changed itself, making the game's speed ridiculously high. That's not the main reason, though. I've also updated this game for fun & to practice my programming skills again. See, I had not touched GameMaker for a while in a serious manner. Last time I did was for a private game I made back in November 2022, so I wanted to re-learn & improve myself in genuine ways that I couldn't back then. Also… I did it for the memories, heck, why not.

What's new in v2.00?

Like I said earlier, this update is not meant to be revolutionary, but rather an overall fixes & improvements done to the first game. If you're interested to see what has actually changed, you can either download & play the game now for Windows & Android or read the Patch Notes for v2.00.

What are the differences between the Windows build & the Android build?

While there aren't significant differences between each other, there have been made some slight modifications to the Android build for a better experience. You may see an easier difficulty, changes to the menu background for optimization, & the removal of initialization startup.

What's next?

I'm happy to say that The Kostas Vs. Thanos Game saga finally comes to an end. Making more remakes or sequels is pointless as it loses the main point of the series. What I mean with this is that I can't be sticking with this saga forever. In the end, the main plot of TKVTG is to move on from the past & keep going forward, which is what Kostas did… & so I'll be doing too. While a TKVTG 2 was planned after the release of TKVTGP, it was only a passionate project that a friend of mine (@Stormdev ) began working on himself, while I was only supervising the project. In the end, it ended up being cancelled. I can't blame him for cancelling the game, since he had his personal life & other projects he was working on simultaneously.

It's been a long journey…

…& I've enjoyed every single moment of it. I don't regret making The Kostas Vs. Thanos Game, & I doubt I will. However, this little silly project wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't by some few people, which I'll list respectively.

A special thanks to @MasteredUIKostas , where of course, without him, this project wouldn't of been possible. I mean, it's a game about him, isn't it? Kostas is a man I admire a lot, his determination and what he's done for us is incredible. His evolution from the point I met him back in 2018, up until today, is simply amazing. A man I've always stood with since the beginning, & I'll never regret standing by your side, bro. I wish the best for you, I know you won't fail.

They are not only greatly talented musicians, but also incredibly hearted men. They're really important to me, although I may not share a strong relationship as much as I do with others. Thank you for supporting the The Kostas Vs. Thanos Game saga! I may not be as active as I used to be, as my inactivity will strength a lot more now that I've definitely finished TKVTG, although a patch may be rolling out in the following weeks.
