The Shadow People V0.2.1 Release


I'm overdue on some devlogs for this game. I'll be writing them out later. For now, here's what's new in V0.2.1:

  • Music has been added! Thanks to @HeartGaming for writing and providing the music. So far I've only incorporated one of their tracks, but I'll be adding more into the game in future builds.

  • Room transitions! Now the screen will flash briefly when moving between rooms.

  • I've added some mouse-over highlighting for the player's actions that they will be able to take in a future build (things like Push, Pull, Talk, etc.)

  • Some dialogue and images have been changed.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
