"Heartless" was supposed to be a click and point adventure type game, and had a surprisingly dark story (don't worry, it didn't get to Dormitabis levels), iirc you played as like a detective investigating the disappearance of an entire family. Your brother apparently got sent to an insane asylum but the protagonist conveniently never knew why (10/10 storytelling). I'm pretty sure the brother like just killed the family you were trying to find, and that was the reason he got put in the asylum, which is very weird because realistically you'd expect that to warrant you a prison sentence? I don't exactly think a person who's killed 4 people is redeemable, just saying.
