This is my new sonic engine.

Its Named Sonic_Massive_Engine.

And its using Sonic 1's first 2 stages as examples.

Currently its in Persian language.

And its running in its debug mode, so there are some numbers around the screen.

About :

This Framework is made using GameMakerStudio2, 2022,0,3,624 version. And it is the first sonic framework in Iran that supports sonic game's physics.

However, this video is from and older version to introduce, the new update includes 3 playable characters too.

the base of engine is made in 2 months(physics and animation, rings), which belongs to May and June of 2024;

and other features is made after that, including enemies, shield, monitors, levels and a little boss fight.

I made this boss fight in my birthday of 2024; and they still need a lot of work. I did never claimed that its complete.

specially those moving platforms of Marble zone(called marble temple here ) look very cringe. one of my rivals in our national video community called it "A new record for GBA port of sonic"!!!!, (though he can't even make a half of this...)

The name, Massive_Engine, comes from the history of development;

History of development :

when I started working with gamemaker, I didn't even know how to make a jump! after 4 months I could get a hang of it and begun to work with some basic physics of sonic games.

GameMakerStudio2 looks like a engine for childs to learn coding, but when we are going to remake the most advanced 2-dimensional physics of 1990's, It will be different.

I made several sonic games, one with a noob physics that its jump is moving toward sky when the key is held, other one with just a gravity and smoother movements, and the third one used simple slope physics.

After working with many functions and help of some tutorials, I got to use the 360 Degree rotation(May of 2024, and I've been suffering a lot to learn it in its past 3 months that I once abandoned it and stuck with other simple ones!),

And now, I had to assembly everything a learned during these seven months to create a real sonic engine(June of 2024). It was the best day of that season for me, even though it was just a simple 360 degree rotation pysics and a ring system with GUI and sound, It was like my biggest wish had became true; I made somethings that I couldn't imagine making them!

And this is why it is called Sonic_Massive_Engine.

I set this name when starting the project of it, 'cause I knew how massive it would have become. Also it was inspired from my favorite sonic music which was from Sonic And The Black Knight, "With Me~Massive power Mix, by Crush40".

Finally, the result screen!!

It was totally a challenge. However it was easier than what I thought it would be.

I'm sorry about the language. I was too lazy to change the images to English. you just imagine it PLZ.

I made critters jumping out of Badniks when we destroy them.

However, I realized that in the official sonic1 those flickies have lesser gravity. No problem;I can simply change the value.

Just like the official game, they will disappear when out of camera.

I finally figured it out! Now knuckles is full featured and playable!

This was the most challenging part in developing three characters to make knux climb the walls and then climb up them(I dunno what it is called in english).

Sega pico is the weirdest console I have ever seen.

This is a full featured playable Tails I added to my engine.

I made this about 8 months ago, but final fetures was made yesterday.(August 9 2025)

The must important part is his tails rotating while rolling.
