If you can emulate a Dreamcast and want to play this game it's definitely worth playing it in there rather than the PS1 version... Not only it has graphic downgrades (such as a LOT of sprites being removed and notably bitcrushed) but the main downgrade is the fact it doesn't even have its MP and MK buttons, which is VERY BAD mechanically as they did not figure out how to put it and made it an unfinished 4 button fighter instead.
Capcom vs. SNK is a huge celebration of both companies and is a crossover game that unites characters that come from the fighting games of each company. It's roster contains mostly characters from Street Fighter and The King of Fighters (which its roster is also made out of Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury characters too.) but has 2 secret characters from less talked-about games: Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown
The gameplay is similar to a Capcom fighting game, the only difference is that it's a Team Battle where you can choose up to 4 characters (based on the assigned Ratio Points for each up until 4) and select the order they will appear, very similar to The King of Fighters. There are 2 different Grooves representing each company which gives your team certain properties and different moves based on which one you choose (Capcom or SNK) as well as changing the artwork of it (cute detail).
CVS: Pro also has a Color Edit Mode and mainly a Price Mode which works as a shop to buy secret characters or EX (Extra) versions of the already-existing ones mostly based on their older game appearances.
Capcom vs. SNK 2 beats this game by a lot actually so if you ever want to skip to that one go ahead!! It has way more stuff and it doesn't dissappoint, making CVS1 be left in the dust if you ever get to try it.
