To celebrate 600 members in the RPG Maker hub, we're going to be running a game jam!

The Jam will take place between Febuary 9nth and Febuary 16th, and will have a SPECIAL THEME which will be announced on the 9nth.

How do I enter?

You must publish a new release on Game Jolt while the jam is active.

This game MUST be made within the jam period, suite the theme and have #RMjam600 in the game pages description.

There will also be a new channel in the RPG Maker Hub that you can post about your entry in, and you are strongly encouraged to do so.

When is the exact time the Jam will take place?

Games must be submitted between:

12am EST on Febuary 9nth and

12am EST on Febuary 17th.

(the moment the 9nth begins to the moments the 16nth ends)

Do I have to use RPG Maker for this jam?

Yes, this is an RPG Maker community jam, so it only makes sense. You CAN however, use other Kadokawa engines such as Visual Novel Maker if you prefer. The engine you use to actually compile the game must be, at the very least, RPG Maker adjacent however.

If you have any specific questions about if your engine of choice is allowed, feel free to contact one of the mods in whatever way you prefer, including shouts, especially me.

Who all is running this jam?

The Jam is being run and voted on by all the mods of the RPG Maker Hub, including

@LUKELCS

(me, also founder) @CUPCAKEMANS @NinjaChicle @ninesoulssea (who made the art in this post) We are the judges, the jury, and the executioners >:)

None of the mods, however, will be actually participating in the jam itself. We are not submitting games to our own jam lol.

What will the theme be?

The theme will be revealed the moment the jam starts. Follow the pinned comment to be pinged for when that happens.

Will this jams timing conflict with Game Jolts current Game Jam?

Not at all. Our game jam is RPG Maker while Game Jolts current jam is exclusive to Construct 3.

What are the rules for the jam and how will the entries be judged?

All games must be free to play (for the Jam release at least) and naturally must follow the rules of what Game Jolt allows on the site, and be properly age rated for whatever material they may contain.

While this jam is largely for the fun of creating, our pick(s) will receive a special little shout out and feature, and likely a video review or analysis from yours truly.

Games will be judged on several qualities (in no particular order):

  1. Creativity within the theme

  2. Gameplay

  3. Story/Premise (and especially it's execution)

  4. Visuals

  5. Sound design

You may use whatever assets you have the right to use for this jam, you must not use copyrighted material you do not have the rights to use. All rights to what you create for this jam will remain entirely yours in all respects.

Finally, a huge thankyou to everyone who's joined the RPG Maker hub these few years.

When I first came to Game Jolt, there weren't any actively modded RPG Maker communities on Game Jolt, but people joined the dead communities anyways, because they wanted one.

So I decided to make one of my own. Put some time into decking it out a bit (even if the first draft was rough) and went around letting some people know I was making it.

It's been really wonderful seeing this community grow, and all of the mods have done a wonderful job in making this community what it is as well. Thankyou to everyone for being here, it means a lot ^.^

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Remember, these two are supposed to be friends ^.^

He won't respond

Why are you recommending the $1,000,000 option as though I can somehow afford that? 🤓

I'm just re-posting my new biosheet so that it can be found by browsing the art section of my fan community.

All the Alicia arts are supposed to be found here, and this is an important one.

He opened his eyes, he had a dead look about him.

THIS IS HOW THE F*CKING PICTURE TURNED OUT!

Yay! I got featured! 😄

This probably won't be in the actual game haha, 😅

But...

You never know.

Maybe some sort of bonus edition?

We've been tossing around the idea of a deluxe edition with some bonus content, like all the placeholder art.

Thing is-

To get free advertising- No-

To drum up hype- No...

Um-

Yeah, I'm just gonna show off all the fanart of me and Luke and @ the people who made them. :D
