Honestly, I think I’m gonna leave Game Jolt, too (or at least take a break). It was fun at first, but then it quickly turned into a mess. Drama, harassment, insults... I’m just done. I came here to escape the ongoing problems of the real world and share my art. I was already having a terrible year during 2020 (for obvious reasons and others I won’t talk about) and I thought that this was the solution. Clearly it was not. The only other time I’ve been more disappointed with a community was when Paper Mario: The Origami King was announced and the fandom was just another vicious and brutal ttyd vs. modern PM battle. I wanted to enjoy the game, but they ruined it. (Also, spoilers in the thumbnails, but that’s besides the point) Anyway, I’m so sick and tired of this. There are a few good moments here, but they keep being ruined by everything else. Even when others are trying to cheer me up, it may work, it may not. And as for my art...well, that was going well too, until people decided to insult my art that I had worked hard on. “Cringy” and “disgusting” aren’t very nice words, and I know that I should just ignore them, but still, easier said than done. Even when I receive positive feedback, I get overwhelmed by it cuz I’m still new to sharing my art online. So I think it’s best for me to take a break. Besides, I have other projects to work on, and Game Jolt would distract me from it. Even if I do leave permanently, I have discord, so if anyone wants to chat with me there, that’s cool.
