Titular cartoon cats who usually chase down the titular small animals, ones who also act as their main rival (Jerry and the Cockroaches), usually being involved in insane cartoony slapstick scenarios while doing so. However, more times than not they fail miserably in catching these creatures. They also contrast in the sense that Oggy is the protagonist who you root for, even if he does always fail, and Tom is (usually) the main antagonist who you root against.
