Hey everyone! Cleer here. It's been a WHILE ever since our last devlog, and I'm happy to say that there's no much to report! (That's good news, I swear.) So lets get started already.
New Old Faces
Due to some problems that have arisen, and generally a want to change some things that bothered us, we've changed a couple of designs! First of the two to be affected is:
Tamelia
Now Tamelia (formerly known as "the not ENA" in the team), has been changed! Her previous nickname will give you a very clear picture of why exactly we did this. But, no harm in showing off her previous design!

Now, I know we've claimed this to be her "final design", and it was! No really, we did intend to just, keep her that way. Mostly because I felt like I did a great job with the design and she felt perfect. Thing is, after I came back from a days-long break from Orange, I realized something: "That's just ENA", so it had to change.
Of course, I still liked how she looked, and thought that getting inspiration from ENA was a pretty good idea. So, I came up with this baby right 'ere!

Horns are WIP.

How can she just change her face like that though? Simple! It's a mask. You see that ugly Orange-Blue mug with three eyes and a giant mouth? That's how she actually looks.
Of course, nobody else looks like that, she's horrified about how she looks like, so, she wears these masks! Why does it change her arm colors? Cohesive design colors It's magic.
We think it's pretty good! We hope you think so as well. Feel free to tell us how you feel.
Selena / "Dick Polter"
Now, Dick Polter. One of our favorite characters with one of the hardest to design personalities and themes ever. How did we fix this? We made him a she.

She's a fire spirit like her brother, is obsessed with humanity and blames them for every major and minor inconvenience in the Underground, and has a major crush. Her coat and hat are just a disguise. She calls herself "Dick Polter" so her brother doesn't realize she's walking around the underground with a six shooter on her holster.
Tell us what you think!
We've Been Taking A Break
As the subtitle says, we have! Lasted a week after releasing Battletest. So if we've had another week to prepare, why haven't we done much other than a couple of designs?
Simple! There isn't anything left to do.
Yes, there are some plot holes and missing story beats every now and then. And a bunch of locations and items and NPCs to organize. BUT, as far as it concerns the Demo, we're done planning!
We can concentrate all of our efforts to actually making it happen. And now that we've (mostly) finished the battle engine, that'll only get easier.
QnA n.2 !
From @Danielmendes1_d849 :
Will we have monster companions to help us with puzzles and combat on the pacifist route?
Answer From Post:
A monster companion *is* planned, but we'd rather not spoil the fun with details. We'll leave it at that for now!

From @DonKorge :
Is the plot supposed to follow different paths? If so, are there specific scenarios in the plot that differ from the classical understanding of the paths in Undertale?
Answer From Post:
There are! Traditionally in Undertale you have routes, right? We have pretty much the same thing. But Undertale used that as a critique of the players actions, almost. You never needed to do a Genocide route to do the True Pacifist ending, and if you do, you're locked out of it.
In Orange we intend to have our routes be more of a new perspective, if that makes sense. Every route did happen, they're all canon to the end of the game. But each route brings a more complete understanding of what is happening, rather than a critique of what the player does.
Extra:
Inside the team we refer to our three routes as "Heaven", "Purgatory", and "Hell", if you've been wondering!

From @Average_DTBL_enjoyer :
will dante undertale orange meet dante from devil may cry?
Answer From Post:
Not sure if they'll meet but I think they'd get along pretty nicely!
Extra:
On second thought, he's probably more like Vergil.

From @tennanotmike :
will there be an *ACTUAL* asgore fight? (uty caused this question)
Answer From Post:
Yes. Absolutely.
Extra:
You could technically consider it the final fight of the game! Not telling any more than that though!
We'll be back in two weeks! We'll post as regularly as we can in the meantime. Cheers!
