I just woke up this morning to a copyright strike on my channel. A simple random Undertale slowed soundtrack video I did back in 2021. So the publisher of Undertale's music, Materia, 4 years later, doesn't even ask me kindly to remove the video but INSTANTLY strikes the video out of nowhere, punishing me and giving me a channel strike without any explanation or warning prior. FYI: 3 channel strikes = my YouTube channel is permanently deleted. Toby is of course aware and pissed about the situation and talked about it on X, encouraging the creators to dispute and fight to remove the claim, as he made it clear that he wanted people to be able to use his music freely. So that's what I did. I disputed the claim and even contacted Materia via email so they could remove the claim, according to what Toby and YouTube advised me to do. Firstly, YouTube rejected my counter to the claim. Secondly, here's the fucking reply I get from Materia. They're not only asking me to DELETE ALL my videos related to Undertale music that have not been claimed yet (making them private isn't enough), they are also telling me that they can't even remove the strike because YouTube has removed the video!!! Ain't this fucking fantastic? Upon this disgusting situation, I have decided to create a back up of my YouTube channel (which took me more than 100 GO so I had to buy a new SSD just for that) and I will remove most of my Undertale videos in order to protect my channel. Though since their info and files are downloaded and saved now, I may be able to reupload them later once the situation is cleared. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for understanding.
