Hello everyone !
We’re excited to share a small update on the progress of our fangame, Undertale: Test of Fears. While we’re still in the very early stages of development, here are some key highlights
Current Phase: Research and Planning
Right now, we’re focusing on:
Refining the story: We’re working on making the narrative engaging and cohesive while staying true to the Undertale universe.
Character design: Most of the characters for the demo are ready, but we’re continuing to brainstorm ideas to flesh out the world.
What We’ve Achieved So Far
Several sketches and visual assets to establish the game’s artistic direction.
Here are some of our sketches
Sorin
Sorin is one of the most important characters in the story. He will accompany Ember throughout her journey in the Underground. For now, we can’t say much more—just know that he plays a significant role!
Also...
don’t use mirrors around him.
scrunky
Here’s one of the main characters: Scrunky! He plays an important role, especially at the beginning of Ember’s journey. Let’s just say that kidnapping kids wasn’t originally part of his plan.
(Keep this between us, but... is it just me, or does he seem to have given a face to his wheelbarrow? Don’t mind him—he usually talks to it!)
Sewer Monsters
These are recurring monsters that you’ll encounter in the sewers. Not much to say about them for now, but their designs set the tone for the area.
All the animations for the main character are complete, which is a major milestone.
Talking about the Main Character i present to you Ember !
Ember is the bearer of the bravery soul she is our main protagonist ( and our main source of shitposts )
We’ve created a few prototypes to experiment with gameplay mechanics. However, please keep in mind that we are still at a very early stage of development, so having these betas does not reflect our overall progression.
Next Steps
Finalizing the character roster.
Enhancing the narrative elements to perfect the story.
Continuing to create assets and integrating the first gameplay mechanics.
We want to thank everyone who’s following and supporting our project. Your enthusiasm is a huge source of motivation for the team! Stay tuned for future updates – we can’t wait to show you more.
Thank you for your support,
The UTTOF Team
