I wanted to take the time to apologize (again) for the lack of work done on this project, and to the general audience within the exe world.

Writing is not easy. Considering I've been writing for over 3 years now, it's not the kind of thing you'd expect from a nobody like me to go out of their way to make something akin to this.

The reboot is not official, and never will be. The original game and story have driven me insane with fear and uncertainty ever since I first heard of it when I was 13 years old.

7 years later I find myself at the edge of a rocky, jagged cliff that is this fanfiction while the other side of that mountain is being burned down by the toxicity and nihilism that is the fanbase tearing itself apart.

That's how far this creepypasta has come, and likely where it will continue growing.

Generally speaking, creepypastas weren't really my bread-and-butter when reading. It didn't really matter what it was, I'd always find myself scared by the readings on YT by various channels, exhibiting anxiety and paranoia only after listening to those videos.

It's stuff like this I enjoy but at the same time I can't afford to enjoy for the sake of my mental health, but I enjoy it because its fascinating: creepypastas. You can't really say these kinds of things with a straight face.

In middle school, (along with the majority of the planet's population), I had a Sonic phase that didn't end too well personally. It was in this window of time that I discovered "Sonic.exe" via Creepy Gaming, hosted by Mullet Mike on TheStickyPaddle.

The way Mike narrates the video always gives me chills to this day, and has remained in the deepest, darkest corners of the back of my mind.

I had a great time taking my spin on things, but now it's time for me to move on. I spent nearly a quarter of my Friday wrapping this up just in time for Easter, which I initially had planned to have it published far earlier than this, so again, I apologize.

Don't expect anything from me regarding Sonic-stuff in the near future, but this story by itself doesn't stop here. Keep in mind that Sonic.exe is only a creepypasta, and it's widely regarded as one of the most widely known adapted pieces of Sonic media out there. (To me, at least).

Sonic's story is far from over, but the creepypasta is done. I hope you enjoy this little revision, and stay cool!
