Visual polish is everything. I spend a lot of time to improve and replace existing shaders that are lightweight on the GPU. But that isn’t all - the new shaders are doing what I designed them for; adding visual features that are sugar for the eyes.
These include the shaders for characters, buildings, but also compute shaders and special effect shaders. The skins of the characters are now using a special ramp texture and the old inefficient shaders have been sent to another universe.
