This video was supposed to not only celebrate FNAW FAN but the FNaW community in general and be something made for them. But recently I have gotten so much shit from multiple members of this community, mostly targeted against the thumbnail that I showed off in the last post.

I was super happy with it actually because most of my thumbnails are not anything I love that much but this one was a really good one to me, the main two workers at the front, the shadow of Bruno Gate and the even darker shadow of Entity 01 more hidden away.

For context, here is FNAW FAN’s 2022 and 2023 thumbnails alongside my 202? thumbnail.

Here is the most notable comments I got:

Here is my response to each of these.

I only included a watermark on the GameJolt post so that some five year old wouldn’t try to steal it. This community is very aware of the less mature people in the comments who beg for demos/builds and stuff so I just didn’t want to risk it. If someone did steal it and used it in their YouTube video, I would’ve had to completely redo the whole thumbnail because their video would’ve been uploaded first and my only proof would’ve been my last GameJolt post. It wasn’t some ego thing, I wasn’t like “Oh my, my thumbnail is so good that I have to watermark it so everyone doesn’t try to use it”.

I wasn’t intentionally targeting the wiki. I made the first version of this thumbnail back on July 10th 2024.

So I don’t remember every single source for the renders/images used in the current version, I saved all of these from Google.

Firstly, in relation to the second comment, I’m not gonna use fan game renders if you’re gonna be that aggressive and snarky about it, you are always such a dick.

Secondly, FNAW FAN didn’t use fan game characters in his 2022 and 2023 video thumbnails but apparently when I don’t, I get tons of heavy backlash for it? You really think I’m gonna include representation of the fan game characters when this is how some of the fan game developers respond to not having their versions of the characters being featured?

Okay??? Is there some rule I missed saying I CAN’T use FNaW renders for a FNaW video now? I’ve literally seen other people use renders of the characters in their thumbnails but I’m the one being targeted.

If the problem was that some of these renders were made specifically for the Five Nights at Wario’s Wiki by other people, I would’ve been totally fine with crediting them.

I am heavily against using people’s work without their credit so I would’ve totally obliged with crediting anyone who did the original renders that I used for my thumbnail in the description of the video or in the video itself.

Also FNAW FAN literally used official renders in his top 10 videos, yes it was mixed with “fan game renders” but it was of OFFICIAL characters like Luigi using his Trapped Within render or the RTTF version of Wario’s Fast Food Factory.

That’s the thing, one of the biggest strengths with this thumbnail in my opinion is that it’s not overcrowded. The first two thumbnails include a version of Wario’s Fast Food Factory (the OG one and the RTTF one), with either Dry Wario or the main 4 workers (which excludes Peach) in front of it. I feel like mine was a perfect balance between that, having the main two workers in front of factory but not overcrowding it with Mario, Luigi, Peach etc. All you need is the main two stars, and the shadows of what lurk underneath. I’m not saying this is the best thumbnail of all time or anything, it’s absolutely not. But I like the bridge it has between the 2022 and 2023 thumbnails respectively without trying to actively be “better” than them.

(This last comment was probably one of the lesser aggressive comments I got though).

I still heavily respect WwwWario, jeb_yoshi, NumberOneJenny, FNAW FAN of course, and SOME FNaW Fan Game developers, most notably the ones I am still working with for their current projects.

But I am NOT gonna make a video dedicated to a community that I love and respect then have like 5 or so prominent members say so much unfiltered shit to me over a fucking thumbnail with Mario characters STANDING instead of just giving me notes or constructive criticism on why they personally didn’t like the current thumbnail for a video that HASN’T EVEN STARTED YET.

Genuinely, fuck you.

I thought the community was better than this.
