Whew, this last week has been a pretty wild ride for me and I really didn’t take the time to update all my media. Sorry for that.
Anyway, versions 1.4 and 1.5 have been released. Version 1.4 added new weapons and the ability to drop your weapon while keeping your weapon meter by double tapping. New weapons include:
TWINDRONES - Similar to Triway, but the shots are spread farther. And they’re shot by a couple of androids. Sweet.
SHIELD - It protects you from certain projectiles, and doesn’t automatically deplete. However, it’s very fragile to direct contact with monsters.
SKULLGUN - It’s a grenade-launcher type weapon. Slow projectiles that explode on contact and create a large explosion that deals massive area damage. Slow fire rate in exchange for high damage makes it perfect for those nasty bosses.
CHAMELEON - It’s a salad! It shoots different projectiles from different weapons. Handy whenever you take it, but might be hard to mantain.
Version 1.5 added 3 new bosses and a better progression for the game. The bosses now appear in certain stages, in this order:
STAGE 1 - Alien Bee / Watchlord
STAGE 2 - Jellyfish (new) / Emotion Ball
STAGE 3 - Boxing Ghost / Machinegun Crab
STAGE 4 - Giant Robot / ???
Also, I composed three different boss tracks. Each of them play in a current level - The original boss song plays on the first, but the next stages all have new themes. Besides, each stage now has 3 defined tracks.
A bunch of bugs were exterminated during the making of the updates.
Now that I have released it on Android, I will focus a bit more on the HTML 5 version. I recognize the current version is pretty lackluster, but it’ll get the same treatment the Android versions have.
Last but not least, I have recorded an acoustic version of the game’s theme.
Thank you for following my development in Spook Troop. It’s been a long five months, but I’m really passionate about it and I’m sure there will be more additions and improvements to the game along the year.
