Hey! It's been awhile. 11 months to be precise!
Last year I made a commitment to try and make a devlog every month, I also stated that I'd found a system that I had thought would work for me. Obviously those too things didn't pan out like I had hoped. But even so I think I've come out of my absence with new-found clarity for not only the demo, but the project as a whole.
1 - I've decided to scale the demo back even further. I know that's not the greatest thing you'd want to hear in an update like this, but I think doing this is better for my sanity and the demo. The story demo will still cover chapter 1 as planned, but I've decided to omit many side locations from it. The demo will be focused solely on the story. I've decided on 3 main areas, 7 side areas, 1 story dungeon and 1 side dungeon along with one extra side thing that I'm hoping to begin work on sometime soon.
2 - I've mostly spent the last year kind of rethinking and reworking bits and pieces of the story. It really hit around october of last year how many random little plot holes there where, so I tried to patch most of them up. I've also spent time rethinking character backstories and motivations.
3 - I've spent time recently sprucing up the UI a bit.
4 - Because I decided to make the story demo mostly about the story, I decided that I'd beef up the story towns you'd need to visit in chapter 1, specifically Inik Town and Castle Town.
Annnnnd with that, that's mostly all I can share for this devlog.
TLDR - Things have changed, but progress is still being made.
Next devlog will be on May 1st.
