Here is a walkthrough, in case anyone needs it! If you’re stuck in the game but don’t want to use the walkthrough, check what the characters are saying, and they should hint you along the way. Don’t be afraid to try every item with everyone, each has their own response. For one puzzle with Peter that’s proven particularly tough, try to think outside the box. :)

Getting the initial items:

You start out with ISAAC and KNIFE in your inventory. Use ISAAC on each person to obtain information, but Alice in particular will tell give you the JONAS/KARLA item because of it. While you are with Alice, borrow her BALL, which is quite heavy and hard. It will come in handy. While talking to Alice, she will think about the phone ringing downstairs. Click on the red PHONE next to Peter to get the PHONE item to talk about.

Seeing what Alice wants:

If you use the PHONE item on Alice, she will think about how she is not sure if she should trust Karla. If you click on the birthday banner in Jonas’s area, he’ll mention that all you have to do to get her trust is to do something she likes. Alice mentions that she wants you to go mess with Jonas, who she thinks of as a meanie. So…

The problem with Jonas:

Go to Jonas. Using the various conversation items on him will show that he is too calm and composed to answer your questions, especially about JONAS/KARLA. Make Alice happy and Jonas shaken by…

Dealing with Jonas:

Using the heavy and hard ball on him, crushing his nose. Afterwards, use the JONAS/KARLA item on Jonas to obtain the information you need from the now unbalanced Jonas.

Go back to Alice and use the BLOODIED BALL on her to give it to her, as proof of what you’ve done. Now she trusts you. So…

What to ask Alice:

Use the PHONE item on her to obtain the vital information she has. After all, since you dealt with that meanie, she trusts you, as a kid is want to do. You now have the ILLEGAL item from Alice, and you got what you needed from Jonas. But what about Peter?

Situation with Peter:

You started out with a KNIFE in your inventory. If you use it on Peter, he will note that you can’t hit him, but he freaks out when he sees the knife slip and cut your finger. He talks about how it would be a disaster if you seriously injured yourself with the knife. So……

The answer about Peter:

Use the KNIFE on yourself. The label of “She” should appear at the bottom. Using the knife on yourself will freak out Peter since you risk wounding yourself in the process. He then tells you what he knows.

Sylvia is busy:

She sure is distracted by the TV. Click on it, and you’ll discover you can only turn it off via remote. Now you have the REMOTE item to ask people about. Who would know most about it?

What to do about it:

Use REMOTE on Alice. After the conversation, she will mention a certain name…

Use REMOTE on Peter. He will reveal that if you get Alice to enter Syl’s room, then Syl will leave to avoid Alice, allowing you to get the remote.

Enter Alice’s Hall. The conversation will automatically start. Afterwards, Alice and Sylvia will switch rooms.

I Miss… :

Click the couch. Karla will try to find the remote underneath, but Alice reveals that she got it before you came in. To retrieve it, guess what her favorite memory is. There is a hint in the room, if you look.

An Ugly Truth:

The correct answer is the Roller Coaster, because Alice drew a large picture of it all over one of the walls. After that, Alice gives you the physical REMOTE item.

When they switch, use the REMOTE item on the TV. After the ensuing conversation, you’ll have the information you need from her.

Meeting Darci:

Use Isaac on her. Afterwards, you’ll need to convince her to give you the info. This means telling her the right things. How do you find out what that is? Click on the poster she hates looking at, and it’ll be useful talking to others about it….

Convincing Darci:

Each person you use the POSTER on will give you their own perception of Darci, and each one has the answer to each of Darci’s questions. The correct sequence is choice 1, choice 2, choice 3.

Darci’s Change:

The room has switched, and so has Darci’s attitude, oh boy. You’ll need to find some information to convince her to be cooperative. You’ve already talked to other residents about Darci, but of everyone in the building, who would know her best…?

Nostalgia

Jonas knows Darci and would have useful information. But you have to trick him into giving it by saying the right things. But how do you know what to say? His attention seems focused on some things….

Observing each of the various objects in the room will let you know about Jonas’s thoughts. Remember it, and use it against him. Once you have learned what you must from him, go talk to Darci. A new conversation will happen, and you will get the information you need from her.

Finishing the game:

Now that you have all that you need from everyone, use ILLEGAL on Peter. If you just got “not yet” before, its because you didn’t have all of what you needed yet. Once you do and you use ILLEGAL on Peter, the rest of the game is clear, no puzzles about it. Enjoy the end of the strange, strange night in the Lovely Estate.
