There is a plan to make a "frequently asked questions" post this week, but with the number of games claiming to be a part of this event when not even confirmed by us, we have been forced to make this devlog to tell you to not do something you really shouldn't do.

So, yeah. Don't say you're part of this when you really aren't. It's disappointing that we have to say this in the first place, but I guess it was a bad idea to assume people can understand basic ground rules about this.

Here's what you should know. For this first event, we're reaching out to games ourselves. We will contact you, not the other way around. Think of this as our test run before we open submissions up to everyone. We want to make sure we can even handle letting people submit their own work for a curated event.

By allowing others to spread lies about what games are included in this event? You're building false expectations, you're spinning an elaborate lie that we will have to personally deconstruct. It's damaging to our ability to truthfully convey information.

This also includes other people adding their games to the Game Jam. We have seen countless cases of this at the moment. The Game Jam we have set up was not designed to be a free-for-all, but a showcase. We have reached out to Game Jolt staff to see if there is a way to lock submissions because frankly it's irritating to see other people adding games that we have to remove.
