Hey folks! How’s everybody doing? It’s been a while since we last talked. Y’all ready for some sweet, sweet Warlock’s Tower news? Here you go.
Since we added monsters to the game, a LOOOOOOOONG time ago, we wanted them to be a dynamic challenge for the player. At every three steps you take, the monsters make their move: if you’re in a tile next to one of them, you’re dead! Initially, we showed this 3-2-1 countdown as a thought bubble that would pop over the monsters’ head. This design, however, was kinda clunky, and we knew it from the start, so last week we finally set aside some time to tackle this issue, and BAM! We have monster idle animations!
So much better! We’re incredibly satisfied with the results.
In these last weeks we also made a screen without which we wouldn’t be able to release the game: the Credits Screen. It was a wild experience for us, since this task has been in our project backlog for as long as we can remember, and putting it into the game definitely feels like, “this game is actually happening!!!” It’s crazy and it is awesome and it is hard not to feel good about it. It feels a little bit like signing a painting before adding the finishing touches, as well. No biggie!
Last, but not least: with the help of our talented friend Daniel Ximenes, our cameos now can talk! Isn’t that awesome? Take a look at the animations he did!
That’s it, folks, there you have it! If you have any questions, suggestions, angry complaints, bug reports, or just wanna say hi, follow us on Twitter! Unlike the Warlock’s Tower zombies, we don’t bite!
